Diner Finds Raw Giblets In Chicken Meal; “Sometimes Mistakes Can Happen,” Says KFC

22-year-old Cassandra Perkins was shocked to find uncooked raw giblets in her KFC chicken meal at the fast-food giant’s Wellingborough outlet. On January 13, Perkins paid £6 for a Zinger Tower meal and one piece of chicken at the fast-food restaurant and got brown spongy-looking giblets inside the chicken for free.

A disgusted Perkins told the Northampton Chronicle:

“I was about to bite into it but I thought it looked off so pulled it open and just said ‘look at that’ and poked it with a straw. It looked disgusting and pink; I didn’t want to touch it. I first thought that it may have been brain or lung, it certainly wasn’t chicken. It was the giblets. They didn’t even look cooked. If I’d have eaten them I would have been pretty ill. My burger had a hair in it as well. I complained and the staff just offered to swap it for a new piece of chicken but there was no way I wanted anything coming out of that store. I certainly won’t be going back and won’t eat KFC again.”

KFC was quick to admit that their staff had forgotten to remove the giblets from her chicken and promptly apologized to Cassandra for their ‘mistake’.

“We’re proud of the fact that our chicken is hand-prepared and cooked fresh in our kitchens. Sometimes mistakes can happen and unfortunately on rare occasions, giblets are not removed when they should have been. We have reminded our team members to take extra care in future, and if a customer is ever unhappy with their food we encourage them to let our team know, who will always be happy to help.”

This terrible incident not just horrified Perkins, it left KFC lovers dumbfounded too; they took to Twitter to express their dismay and experiences as well as share more such incidents.


In 2013, a 19-year-old student found a ‘wrinkled brain’ inside a piece of chicken while tucking into a Gladiator box meal at a branch in Colchester, Essex. KFC, which offered vouchers for free food as an apology, later judged the three-inch piece of offal to be a kidney.

  1. Seems to me like a hit job on KFC I have been a n avid customer of KFC for over 40 years and i have never had that experience. The food taste great and i wish i had there secret formula

  3. Weird never seems to happen near the kfc’s near me but then again I usually order the potpie or whatever if I ever eat there… So unless you’re telling me that the employees can somehow fuck up baking premade factory forzen pies…. I’d be surprised to find anything.

    That being said this looks awfully close together in terms of time limits

  4. That’s why I left KFC for fast food they fooled us they were using expired chicks and donkey meat in their zingers wakeup KFC ur business is already going low day by day in Pakistan
