Plans have been announced by Taco Bell and Pizza Hut to eliminate artificial color and flavoring from their menus. It’s a push seen across the board with most major food companies under increasing pressure by the mainstream to increase the nutritional value of their menus.
According to an announcement made by Taco Bell, the phase out will affect 95 percent of their meals offered to customers. Some of the phase outs include black pepper flavor, high-fructose corn syrup, unsustainable palm oil, and a number of artificial dyes.[1]
The major shift in the food industry is a response to the public demands. Health conscious citizens are becoming more demanding when it comes to the food they’re consuming; fighting the battle against obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. The CEO of Taco Bell remarked that they’ll work on maintaining low prices and will offer full disclosure of their ingredients online to maintain transparency with their customers.
It remains to be seen how the taste of the food is affected, and/or the cost. With the giant Pizza Hut and Taco Bell paving the way for an increasing change to their menus, it’s likely others will follow.

Amazing isn’t it that a little bit of internet activism & bad publicity can change ‘corporations’ into healthy or non synthetic ingredients…yet McDeath & its ilk have basically poisoned hundreds of thousands of people & will no doubt not be changing substances that harm humans in 3rd world countries. Because in those outlets people are less in the know with how these insidious corporations have ‘got away with it for decades’ and…suddenly they are all cuddly & friendly & want people/customers/dumb buyers to know how they love the food they sell.
The unsung hero’s from whistle-blowers/anonymous posters/activists the world over are in our debt for opening the eyes & ears of the masses. Well done & please do not stop shining a light on the vile practices of these companies. Because they do not wish to change & do their very best too hide the torturous ethos they spin out of there cauldrons.
Why was it in there in the first place? How do we know they are actually removing anything? I doubt we have some basement lab tech with test tubes going ‘oh! this tube turned blue, which means it contains x’…
They didn’t change anything because people stood up to them, or protested about it…they did it because some room of lawyers and ass-kissers noticed the profit chart might slip.
They would serve mud on woodchips if it meant they would reap more profits.
Your government knew and the FDA is your nightmare when it comes to all foods and processed foods~~they look the other way while their palms are out!
