A challenge has been set to the international community, specifically journalists, to live up to the true nature of their occupation and put their investigative talents to the test. For the lucky one to win the Challenge set by actor Robert De Niro and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., 100,000 USD will be rewarded.
On first glance, it doesn’t seem a difficult task. After all, the 100K Challenge is prompting anyone to find just one peer-reviewed, scientifically-based research study that documents and proves that the mercury-based preservative thimerosal is safe for use in vaccines.
If you can find this documentation, then you will receive your reward.
The 100 K Challenge is not an anti-vaxxer campaign. In fact, it’s the direct opposite. Both De Niro and Kennedy Jr are pro-vaccination parents who have had their children vaccinated according to the prescribed schedule. Robert F Kennedy, who has been labelled as an anti-vaxxer in the past – to marginalize him – is nothing further from the truth.
“We are both pro-vaccine. We need to say this at the outset to contravene the reflexive public relations ploy of labeling every vaccine safety advocate “anti-vaccine.” As the British Medical Journal pointed out last week, that epithet is a derogatory attack designed to marginalize vaccine safety advocates and derail reasoned debate:
“It stigmatizes the mere act of even asking an open question about what is known and unknown about the safety of vaccines,” states Kennedy Jr.
This exercise in finding the one report to substantiate claims by the CDC and other regulatory bodies in the US that using mercury in vaccines is safe, is multi-pronged, Kennedy Jr. explains.
Firstly, it opens a challenge to professionals in journalism and science to elevate the vaccination debate to healthy levels. Secondly, it forces journalists to investigate rather than regurgitate media-sponsored answers.
The 100K Challenge isn’t about the contentious ‘to vaccinate or not to vaccinate’ your child against disease argument, rather:
It is about making the vaccination program safe;
It’s about protecting our children from suspected mercury-related health problems: Death, ADHD, autism, asthma, anaphylaxis, OCD, anorexia and more;
It’s about forcing accountably on governing agencies – particularly the CDC – who have never tested mercury-laced vaccines for safety.
It’s a debate that has continually suffered from stigmatization. Any person who dares question a vaccination schedule is labelled by mainstream media as an anti-vaxxer, when the reality is, the person is worried about the damage mercury can employ on the body.
Consider these facts:
In 2014, Mainstream Media largely ignored a Dr William Thompson, a senior vaccine scientist for the CDC, confessing to the manipulation of data to conceal links between vaccines and a multitude of neurological disorders.
“I regret that my co-authors and I omitted statistically significant information in our 2004 article published in the journal Pediatrics. The omitted data suggested that African American males who received the MMR vaccine before age 36 months were at increased risk for autism. Decisions were made regarding which findings to report after the data were collected, and I believe that the final study protocol was not followed,” the first paragraph of Thompson’s statement read.
Or what about the federal law that prohibits you from suing the corporations responsible for childhood vaccination “serious side effects?” If vaccination is so safe, then why is this law required?
“We are one of the few cases in which the government has acknowledged that a vaccine caused my son’s brain damage and autism. The American people need to understand that the pharmaceutical industry has total blanket immunity to lawsuits. They have no incentive to study or improve safety. If your child is injured by a vaccine, you cannot sue in the American court system. You are sent to Vaccine Court. It took me eight years for my ‘swift justice’. I say it facetiously because CDC website’s promotes swift justice for people who can prove they have a vaccine injury,” says neuropsychologist Sarah, a mother of six.
Those most susceptible to mercury are “children, pregnant women, and women of child bearing age, are the most vulnerable to the effects of mercury. Both metallic mercury and methylmercury can cause deleterious developmental effects in children and fetuses. The nervous system is most vulnerable.”
Wiping out measles, mumps and other diseases is a good thing, De Niro and Kennedy Jr. argue. But sacrificing a susceptible group of children for the cause is unacceptable. The scientific community can do better. Corporations producing vaccines must be held accountable for their product. Research – to find better ways and means of vaccinating – is the end goal.
Hopefully, this new challenge will instigate the much needed healthy debate to elevate this ‘taboo’ subject into the spotlight. For everything we are capable of in the 21st Century, we owe it to our children to provide safe vaccinations rather than take Big Pharma’s word that the mercury preservative is safe.
