Investigators into the Germanwings airplane that crashed in the French Alps have said that co-pilot Andreas Lubitz deliberately crashed the plane that killed all 150 people on board.
Prosecutors in Germany have also confirmed that an analysis of a tablet device retrieved from the 27-year-old’s apartment in Dusseldorf revealed that he had researched suicide methods and cockpit door security on the Internet. This means that the crash was deliberate, and if Lubitz was to have survived the crash, he would have been punished by the full weight of the law.
But media coverage of the incident has sparked some resentment on Twitter. Some say that the media is not being as critical as it would have been had it been a black man, or some other race, committing the heinous crime. We managed to gather some of these tweets below.

Expressing their frustration at how the media portrays black and brown people as compared to white people, they used the hashtag #ThePerksOfBeingWhite to express their frustration, accusing the media of gross bias in broad daylight.

Others even said that the media has chosen to glorify him (Lubitz0) by showing pictures in which he is smiling as well as choosing words that are very “soft” to describe him. They say that if he was an Arab, the media would have called him all sorts of names, beginning of course with terrorist.

Whatever your opinion may be, let us stand together as one people and try as much as possible to be fair and balanced ourselves, without referencing a racial or ethnic identity. But for Andreas Lubitz… if it is true that he had deliberately committed this act, the blood of the people he had killed will continue to haunt him for an eternity.
I don’t know if the media in USA is not beeing critical.
But I can tell you, that in Germany it was not OK to start a shitstorme against the parents and the rest of Lubitz’s family.
What he has done is terrible!!
But his parents also lost a son and have to live with the knowledge what he has done.
In fact I’m also wondering, why he had to search google conc. the security doors….
As a co-pilot he had to know all the facts of this mechanism.

There always is. And it always boiles down to money. Huge failure in the plane’s software or any other. Avoiding claims and bad publicity. Same thoughts here. Although I’m not saying that Lubitz did not had his share in crashing the plane. I simply cannot know for sure, because we are lied to all the time by govts and corporations.
