Sometimes, whether it is because of an injury or even an illness, we need something to help us get through and deal with the pain. While painkillers are commonly used they are not good for us in any way.
One of the best solutions for dealing with pain is using wild lettuce, while it is not as known as it should be, it is most likely already growing in your backyard. Wild lettuce has been famous for a long time in the ‘natural remedy’ or ‘alternative treatment’ world. It is often referred to as “poor man’s Opium.”
Dr. Mercola has written as follows on wild lettuce:
If you’ve suffered anxiety, headaches, or muscle or joint pain, you might already be familiar with wild lettuce. It’s also effective at calming restlessness and reducing anxiety, and may even quell restless legs syndrome. When using a wild-lettuce supplement, take 30 to 120 milligrams before bed.
Wild lettuce has proven to be effective in treating a wide range of things. It can work for everything from muscle or joint pain to whooping cough. In the book A Modern Herbal, Volume 2 it is even mentioned how Dr. Collins “stated that 23 out of 24 cases of dropsy were cured by taking doses of 18 grains to 3 drachms of extract in 24 hours.” Many people use it as a means to get rid of or help with insomnia as well.
That all being said, of course, you should be careful when ingesting anything. You have to try it out slowly and see how your body reacts to it. Never jump right into things. Painkillers have some pretty terrible side effects and opting for this natural alternative might be a better route for you. Wild lettuce works because it has a numbing effect similar to opiates without the addiction.
If you want to add this plant to your life find some and take the white milky substance from within. Use this to make a tincture as gone over in the video below. There are lots of things in nature we can benefit from if we properly inform ourselves about them.
it’s irresponsible to talk about necessary, helpful, essential, responsible, life saving, relieving, pain management medicines in such ways… for one such example, there is a massive distinction btwn actual addiction n what is mistaken as ‘addiction’ but which is not at all actual addiction… rather as with many things, one’s body needs to be able to be acclimated n/or de-acclimated, on n/or off of any necessary medicines, treatments, etc… in general… this is also true for pain management… a patient must responsibly acclimate n/or de-acclimate their bodies on n/or off their medicines… medical monitoring should be offered n implemented as support n part of medical treatment n management plan… ***acclimation-and-de-acclimation…*** is NOT ‘addiction.’ pls stop mushing medically necessary n responsible chronic n acute pain management medicines into the same propaganda assault with street drugs like heroine under the dangerously vague, so called ‘opioid crisis!’ street drugs n pain management medicines, drug addicts seeking to get high n abuse substances, n medical patients who’s extremely painful, disabling, chronic n/or acute medical conditions medically necessitate pain management for essential % of pain relief, for any improved % of quality of life, n helping a patient to suffer less, be more functional, n feel closer to ‘normal…’ (not ever to get high from, not ever to abuse; to take any more of than prescribed; or in other ways than prescribed…) just as a drug dealer, n a quality, qualified, professional pain management specialist; medical dr…. r not at all the same things! it is harmful, damaging, threatening, endangering, slanderous, ruinous, to innocent medical patients, to carelessly, irresponsibly, ignorantly, erroneously lump these extremely different things together as tho they r all the same n all bad! i should make further significant points as well… but not sure if this will even post… plus m exhausted… etc… will c… all that being said tho, i m looking forward to when i m able to check out wild lettuce some more n c how much it may help! i m very interested in herbs, n very much appreciate herbs. i utilize them as much as possible… would love to get more into herbalism. thx for recommending wild lettuce. wish u would promote herbalism, n wild lettuce, on it’s own merit, without trying to say it is great while knocking medicines which r actually helping many people n saving may patients lives n helping ppl heal, n or attain greater quality of life; n lives their lives as best as they can… morphine is one of thee most ancient pain killers for reasons. it is not evil. it is heaven sent; from the angels to help us here… only as needed… to be respected, never abused.
oops! typos; meant to say: ***’not ever to take any more than as prescribed… nor to take in any ways other than as prescribed…’*** (in case it was not quite as clear as i meant it to be…) /// also… towards the end of my comment, another typo was, that *’it helps ppl to *live* their lives as best as they can…’* i think that’s all of the typo correcting that i noticed i needed to do, re: my comment. thx.
Suffering from Lyme Disease you need everything possible to fight pain, a pain so bad it puts your body in shock it’s indescribable, you can feel yourself dying…. It has destroyed my good life. When it gets this bad handfuls of opiates won’t even help. I take 50-70 pills/supplements, few pain pills and self made tinctures per day, most for pain. Could use anon’s help fighting the CDC’s corruption and stand for the millions of us suffering from their greed and preventing us from living.
Thanks to all anonymous & be proud!
