A tragedy has unfolded in the New York PD. Brinsley, a man with a string of arrests behind him, shot two Police Officers execution style, after shooting his girlfriend in Maryland and fleeing the scene. It was from his girlfriend’s Instagram accounts that he threatened to carry out the killings of New York Police Officers without any remorse, in the name of Eric Garner.

Eric Garner’s family are shocked by the occurrence and in no way condoning the violent act by releasing a statement through their attorney. ‘We reject any kind of violence directed toward members of law enforcement. It cannot be tolerated. We must work together to bring peace to our communities.’

It is one thing to protest in the name of justice and rally together as a community and quite the other to take into your hands, a callous act under false pretense; using a well-known social issue in vain. Brinsley was seen fleeing the squad car after the killings, before turning his gun onto himself in the subway, fatally shooting himself in the head.

This also comes at a time when the police department is locked into arguments with New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio of the treatment of officers after a statement he issued about the protests and police relations with minorities being strained.

At a press conference addressing the deaths of the two New York Police Officers he stated, ‘I don’t think it’s the time for politics or political analysis,” he said. ‘It’s a time to think about families that just lost their father, their husband, their son.’

Isohunt Launches “The Open Bay” – Now Everyone Can Host Own Version of “The Pirate Bay”

28

On December 9th following its tenth anniversary, The Pirate Bay, a file sharing site went off line after Swedish police authorities raided a Stockholm hosting company. In retaliation, Anonymous have leaked the log-in details of up to 38 Government emails in Sweden and also others across Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, India and Israel.

Since the takedown by police last week, the isoHunt.to team have restored the site quickly, having copied The Pirate Bay’s database to put it back online, displaying a strong cyber resilience to the shutdown of recent Tor websites.

A representative from the Stockholm County Police told the BBC in light of this shut down that it had taken years of investigations to discover the locations of the servers containing The Pirate Bay material.[1]

But isoHunt.to have larger plans with the re-establishment of The Pirate Bay by introducing open Pirate Bay source code. The intention would be to produce a swarm of “The Open Bay” players rather than a select few. Those with minimal knowledge and the desire will be able to open and host their own domain.[2]

Vatican Stance on Slavery

0

Pope Francis, elected to his position in 2013, will be making a speech in early January, encouraging people to move away from those products produced by slave labor and to end the ‘general indifference’ that we suffer on a global scale. On face value it is an effort worth applauding, but one must wonder why such a speech will be given after Christmas.

But it is not just this speech, where the opening has been released to the public, but it is his other commentaries on other agendas involving the world’s currency and global governance that pique interest; not to mention his recent refusal to greet the Dalai Lama when he visited Vatican City in fear of upsetting political China.

Pope Francis has recently been advocating for a global currency and global governance through his unmitigated support of the UN’s role in wartime strategy. It isn’t surprising given the powers that the Vatican hold, and the ties they have with many elitists.

Yet in the very speech he is set to give in January, it is said that he will also be attacking the governments and multi-national corporations as well as law enforcement agencies, drawing attention to their shared responsibility in the exploitation of people.

The next step taken by the Vatican will no doubt be an interesting one.

USA Threatens Russia with New Nuclear Missiles

69

In the last weeks there has been an escalation of tensions between Russia and the United States. Sanctions are being tightened and there’s a push by congress to introduce a new bill, met without much opposition, to reign in these sanctions.

Russia has announced that if the sanctions continue they will counteract the strike. This comes at a time when Putin has declared that by 2015 Russia will have an additional 50 ICBMs to add to their stockpile. According to Putin, it is a strategic effort to deflect aggression. ‘These forces are the crucial factor upholding the global equilibrium and they de facto rule out a possibility of a large-scale aggression against Russia.’[1]

But the United States aren’t seeing it this way, with the rift growing larger between the two super powers each week. The Pentagon have gone so far as to threaten Russia with their own nuclear capabilities if Putin doesn’t back down from his reported breach of two arms control treaties, of which Putin firmly denies any wrong doing, reiterating that they followed the INF treaty as proposed.[2]

This past week the Senate and House of Representatives have passed the new Ukraine Freedom Support Act. It was sent back after proposed changes, and Obama has also been noted to disagree with the act. It is expected however, to be passed soon after the changes, with Obama pushing the line that new sanctions shouldn’t be introduced without Europe first agreeing with them.

But it seems that the US won’t allow Russia’s actions to go unanswered this time.
