Hillary Clinton’s Mobile Phone Hacked by German Intelligence Agency

5

We spy, you spy, I spy a spying guy

German foreign intelligence Agency (BND) hacks Hillary Clinton’s phone…I’ve been told for a long time that the “Cold War” was over. The espionage, the cloak and dagger games… it’s all done. “there’s no reason for all that clandestine bull anymore. All the major powers get along for the most part…” Although I never really believed it, I never really cared either.

Welcome to the new millennium. The infancy of the cyber age! A time where, with enough effort, anyone can eventually figure out how to manipulate numbers, to control a machine, to create misery in our lives… or watch the newest tantrum of a movie star.

Welcome back to Dystopia. The current “he said, she said” starts with the NSA getting caught not only listening to but, recording up to 125 billion calls per month. 35 world leaders including the German Chancellor’s personal cell phone even made it into that rolling buffer. Surprising to many people; not so surprising to others. I do believe we owe Edward Snowden a thank you for popping the cork on that one (no matter how you may feel about him). So, the NSA gets called on the carpet to answer for their sins, POTUS makes a big “I didn’t have a clue” speech, committees are formed, buttocks get paddled and everyone in the government giggles at how they have smoothed over the general peons of the world. BND feiert Richtfest fuer Berliner Zentrale - technische Dienste verbleiben in Pullach

Did anyone actually think it would all end there? Now, we fast forward to August 2014 and out of nowhere a German newspaper “Sueddeutsche Zeitung” reports that Hillary Clinton’s cell phone was hacked by the BND (Bundesnachrichtendiens), a German foreign intelligence agency, while she was serving as secretary of state.* (She served between 2009 and 2013). Sources say that the call was picked up accidentally and the recording was “destroyed” shortly thereafter. OTHER sources say that it was done on purpose and that it was NOT destroyed right away… either way, the details of the call were not disclosed. At the same time, it was also reported that the BND was allegedly ordered to spy on an unnamed NATO partner state too.  However, the BND never actually came out and said “yes, we did this”. Given the fact of how mass media is wrought with government fits, the whole deal could very well be yet another distraction from bigger and worse things. If it’s all true we have an idea who was caught first but, who spied on whom first? Who else will wind up being in this twisted mix? What kind of retaliation do we watch for? When will the next one piss off the first one? Where will you be when you say “here we go again?” How do we, the regular people of the world, deal with it?  Work together in sheer numbers. Considering the fact that cameras, drones and recorders are popping up everywhere to form the new police state, the only way to accomplish something is massive cooperation of everyday anonymous citizens. Give them something to watch on their surveillance. No, nothing violent. Can you imagine if you could get a whole town or city to just …stop… for one hour? A giant “sit in”

The basic facts as seen from this tiny corner of our world are:

1)      Surveillance has never stopped nor will it ever.

2)      The advancement of technology will only prod those in power to try to expand their control by whatever means they deem necessary

3)      238 years ago the citizens of the English colonies fought against the tyranny of a King and being “ruled” and through technology and complacency we are now coming full circle.

4)      Lastly, if you think movies like “Metropolis”** and “The hunger Games”*** were cool or wild movies… imagine what life would be like if they came to pass. The two class system is already in place whether you believe it or not.

7 Reasons why the world isn’t all bad

9

Written by: FLU5CH

#1: Lots of programs to end poverty are around.

why the world isnt bad at all 1

Every week more and more charities, organizations and groups pop up around the globe helping to stop poverty giving children food, water, education and even in some cases a roof over their head.

It is suggested that by 2035 there will be nearly no poor countries left in the world and those that still are poor will gain more advanced and technological aid.

The U.S food stamp program is actually helping out millions of people every year, much more than what it was initially expected.

Countries are giving out more and more aid every year, also helping to battle poverty.

#2: Each day offers more and more medical advances.

why the world isnt bad at all 2

Each year in Africa more than 1,500 children die of malaria but soon that may no longer be the case! A pharmaceutical company claims to have created a new drug that could be the world’s first malaria vaccine; it is supposed to be available to public in 2015.

A 19 year old from Chicago might have discovered a cure for colon cancer. His experimental vaccine has been 100 percent effective on ridding malignant tumors from mice.

Gene therapy, this is where a person’s genes are taken, re-engineered then put back into the patient’s body to fight diseases. This is a great alternative to surgery.

Last year, a California company called “Second Sight” received approval to start marketing a bionic eye that they developed. This eye currently needs glasses or some sort of small camera externally to function but none the less it still shows just how far medical advances can go.

#3: The popularity for protecting the environment is rising higher.

why the world isnt bad at all 3

Electronical cars and green car advancements are becoming increasingly popular and now most car companies will have their own selection of electronical vehicles.

Plastic waste in the ocean is currently a big issue but in the future a lot of it will all be cleared up.

Cycle to work programs are beginning to make a larger appearance, encouraging people to cycle to work and even giving them huge discounts on expensive and cheap bikes.

#4: New technology is improving people’s lives.

Summer Lunch

Most schools now have or are investing in 3D printers; these are used for class projects or even to teach people how they work. War victims in Sudan are also gaining help from 3D printers to create low-cost prosthetic limbs.

People in Zambia who own phones but have no access to the internet can still access health and education services online thanks to an app created by Facebook, They say that they are also planning on releasing the app in other countries too.

Researchers at the MIT media lab are working on a device that scans text and reads it out loud for the visually impaired, this device is called the “FingerReader” and can help read anything from full length books to restaurant menus and documents.

#5: Every day people are discovering solutions to complicated problems.

why the world isnt bad at all 5

Four MBA students from McGill University may have came up with a solution to world hunger! Insect farming, the idea is to teach rural farmers how to breed tiny insects called palm weevils.

A man from India called Mansukh Prajapati has invented a new fridge that stays cold without electricity; the fridge only costs around $50 and could play a huge role in poor non electronical communities.

Simple things like foldable bike helmets and shoes that charge your equipment whilst you walk is also now available. Things like these are to encourage more people to go out and exercise keeping them fit and healthy.

#6: Women’s rights are improving.

why the world isnt bad at all 6

As of July 2014 all women in Saudi Arabia can now participate and municipal in all elections, this includes the 2015 elections coming up.

Protests about balancing women’s rights are becoming much more popular, you can find hundreds of results on this just with a quick search on Google.

Punishments for offending and harassing women are becoming more and more severe. Not so long ago now a new law took place in Egypt that can send offenders to jail for up to 5 years for crimes against women.

#7: Homosexuality rights are also improving.

Dec12_2012_40577058_RainbowFlag_EpigeneticsHomosexuality8749263677

On August 1st Uganda brought in a new law that can grant any act against homosexuality life in prison!

Last month the United Nations announced that it will recognise and allow same sex marriage of all employees meaning that they can be accepted regardless of their sexuality and if their home country outlaws it.

In the past decade more and more countries have legalized and recognized gay marriage.

Finally Peace in GAZA

75

Written by: S.S.

A long term cease fire has been agreed between the Israel and Palestine in Gaza after 50 dreadful days of war, almost 7 weeks of fighting, killing more than 2200 Palestinians and injuring more than 11000 lives.

The numbers of civilians displaced in GAZA were 100,000 plus as per UN, but the Palestine Centre for Human Rights reported that more than 540,000 people were displaced from their homes in GAZA.

Israel and Palestine have agreed to the long term cease fire sponsored by the Egyptians which came into effect at 16:00 GMT Cairo time.

This is what the President of Palestine had to say:

We have responded to the Egyptian proposal for a complete and comprehensive cease-fire, which starts at 19:00 Cairo time, there will be a complete stop in fighting.”

Reconstruction of GAZA

As per few media reports Gaza will host a new sea port, Airport and will get assistance in development of the country. The Israelis ease the blockade on Gaza including assistance humanitarian aids and materials of reconstruction.

Israel also accepted to open border crossings’ as well as to increase the fishing coast line of Gaza from 3 to 6 nautical miles in the Mediterranean.

The foreign minister of Egypt made following statement:

“The two sides will abide by the cease-fire without a The two sides will abide by the cease-fire without a time limit. The deal includes as well the continuation of indirect talks between the two sides here in Egypt to tackle other areas of mutual interest and concerns.”

Both countries will return to Cairo after a month to discuss about the new projects as well as peace related matters.

Celebration of Victory in Gaza

Since the ceasefire news spread, HAMAS invited tens of thousands of Gazan’s to march on the streets, sing patriotic and victory songs.

Even though this ceasefire was the same like after the war in Israel back in 2012, people still celebrated this all over Gaza.

Gaza was filled with people on the streets, religious prayers from the mosques, people dancing after Sami Abu Zahri, Hamas spokesman said during the conference.

“We are here today to declare the victory of the resistance, the victory of Gaza, with the help of God, and the steadfastness of our people and the noble resistance; we achieved some of our instantaneous demands out of this battle. We become closer to Jerusalem and our Palestinian lands.“

And here is what one of the Citizen of Gaza had to tell about the celebration:

“We have mixed feelings. We are in pain for the losses but we are also proud we fought this war alone and we were not broken.”

Disappointment and Criticism in Israel

Government of Benjamin Netanyahu is now facing heavy criticism from different Israeli communities who say that the Israeli failed to stop “Gaza Militants”.

However many Ministers in Netanyahu’s Govt. didn’t like the ceasefire and wanted to continue the war. Even though, Netanyahu didn’t put the ceasefire to a vote in his security Cabinet.

Uzi Landau, Israeli’s Tourism minister, criticised the government during a radio talk by saying  “Wanting peace at any Price” which created a buzz among the groups present in the country.

Some Israelis also said that – They didn’t see a bright future, taking into account, number of times Israeli and Palestinians have relapsed in a conflict.

Here’s what few Citizens of Israel had to tell –

Maya Naveh, from the city of Modiin said –

In recent years, we’ve been having these kinds of attacks on average every two years, the area is like dry thistles — you just need to throw a match, and everything is ablaze. So I am not very optimistic about the future.

A Top Israeli officer with a condition of anonymity said –

In the end, Israel had two alternatives: either to occupy Gaza and destroy Hamas or to go to a ceasefire, once we decided not to occupy Gaza, we pushed for the same conditions that led to the end of hostilities in 2012.

Mark Regev, Israeli Govt. spokesperson said –

We hope that this time, the ceasefire will stick, I think now, as the dust will begin to clear, many people will be asking: Why is it that today Hamas accepted the very same Egyptian framework that it rejected a month ago? Ultimately, so much bloodshed could have been avoided.

Israel also claimed that the tunnels used by the HAMAS for import-export of weapons used to attack Israeli civilians, was destroyed by its army operations.

As per the Israeli Military, Israel launched 5000 air strikes on GAZA , while resistance in GAZA, they fired almost 4000 rockets as well as mortars with the help of HAMAS as well.

The UN reports also shows us that 70% of those who were killed were Palestinian civilians, 67 Israelis, where 64 of them were soldiers, have also been killed during these 50 days.

JPMorgan Chase Hacked Twice in Twelve Months

7

 Written by: Anonymous Watcher

A cyber-attack has hit the largest US bank (by assets).

JPMorgan Chase has since warned that almost have a million customers and their personal data may be at risk after ‘unknown hackers attacked the network.’ No funds are thought to have been stolen, but unknown data breaches of personal information may have been seized. The bank has yet to elaborate.

Kristy Nichols, the Louisiana Commissioner of Administration issued a statement claiming “The data exposure affects only cardholders who registered their cards on the JPMorgan UCard website and, between July and September 2013, performed certain actions online.”

This scenario took place in 2013.[1]

This week, in 2014, JPMorgan Chase was hacked again. With such a large bank being hacked twice within 12 months, this raises some vital questions: the main one being security, both on a personal level and of a national one.
chasehackrussia

It was not yet clear how the cyber-attacks occurred, nor was it clear who the responsible party was in 2013, but the common answer in 2014, with reignited Cold War tensions – according to the FBI, NSA and Secret Service, is that Russia may have had some involvement in ‘recent events.’

The FBI, along with the assistance of the NSA and Secret Service, are investigating this major breach. It is still yet to be determined, as the same scenario in 2013, as to what information has been breached and to what extent. The FBI did release a statement reporting ‘cyber-attacks against several financial institutions.’[2]

“Companies of our size unfortunately experience cyber-attacks nearly every day,’ spokeswoman for JPMorgan, Patricia Wexler has stated. “We have multiple layers of defense to counteract any threats and constantly monitor fraud levels.”

But in one of the attacks, it is said that hackers obtained “sensitive” data from bank executives. And since the stock has fallen 15 cents in New York trading this week, it is possible that the attack on such a large bank is now considered to be not a federal one, but one of national security. JP Morgan Chase & Co sign outside headquarters in New York

Since the US and European sanctions have transformed how Western banks cooperate with Russia, JPMorgan has been reportedly criticized by the Russian critics. It is believed and now currently investigated as to whether or not retaliatory attacks have occurred as these Western sanctions increase.

In the past, the US government linked similar instances against banking institutions to Iran, in 2012 and 2013, with Obama seen to shut down “attack points in Europe and elsewhere.” [3]

Now, the FBI are investigating Russian hackers. What remains to be seen is how an attack that is “…far beyond the capability of ordinary hackers…” according to Bloomberg.com, has been directly linked to Russia. The Wall Street Journal also cited anonymous sources, stating this was a “significant breach of corporate computer security.” [4]

JPMorgan has released their plans to spend $250 million on cybersecurity this year. But rather than worry about the Russian nation hacking their defenses, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal, JPMorgan Chase may have been undone by one single person – an employee – where the hackers may have appeared to have found their way into a personal computer.
