Our critics say we are doomsayers and they also say we are fear mongers. But we know we’re not. We are only reporting on what is happening in the current world climate.
We can authoritatively report that the geopolitical contest between Russia and the West has deteriorated to its lowest level since the end of the Cold War.
We can confidently tell you again, that the Second Cold War is currently in progress, and it is just a matter of time for it to turn into a Hot War, ushering us into humanity’s worse nightmare, World War III (WWIII), if we aren’t careful.
For the last two months, we have consistently reported on a possible global conflict (WWIII) between the United States and its allies in the West, and Russia and its allies in the East.
What have culminated us in this current tensed situation between Russian and the West are the conflicts in Ukraine and the civil war in Syria. In Ukraine, the United States and its allies in the West used the so-called Ukrainian nationalists as a proxy to oust a pro-Russian administration led by Viktor Yanukovych, in 2014.
Russia responded by annexing the Crimea region from Ukraine. As the West, led by the United States, struggles to install a functioning government in Ukraine – to protect its interests in Eastern Europe – Russia too, is making frantic efforts to neutralize the situation, also attempting to protect its influence in the region.
Russia is now using separatist rebels in Eastern Ukraine as proxies, trying to carve the area into an independent nation that will be closely allied with Russia. This is the current happenings in Eastern Europe, between Russia and the West.
In Syria, the civil war is also a proxy war between the United States and Russia. Russia has even intervened physically, on the request of the Syrian government. The United States, unable to get any invitation, has been arming many rebel groups in the country, with open plans to overthrow the Syrian government.
But since Russia honored the Syrian invitation last year, the war has turned in favor of the Syrian government – which was falling before Russia’s intervention.
Beginning on Sept. 22, Russia intensified its military operations in Syria, with the intentions to capture the city of Aleppo for the Syrian government. As the Aleppo operation continues, Russia has given the United States a stern warning not to take any action against the Syrian government forces.
The United States and its rebels have been completely neutralized by Russia’s firepower. The United States, unable to stand the heat, has announced that it has ended all contacts with Russia in Syria.
Moscow’s developments are not an easy pill for the United States to swallow. The United States Secretary of State, John Kerry, is said to have urged president Obama to intervene and face the consequences from Russia. He is said to have even favored a nuclear deterrent against Russia.
However, it appears that before Kerry could even make this suggestion to Obama, the Russians had already gathered intelligence on the happenings within the White House. According to Zvezda, a Russian defense ministry Television channel, the country has started preparing its citizens for a possible ‘nuclear war’ with the United States – because of the mounting tensions in Syria. Russia has since moved to deploy nuclear-capable Iskander missiles in its western-most region, Kaliningrad, which borders on NATO members of Poland and Lithuania.
Now, local media in Russia are reporting that president Vladimir Putin has ordered all officials in his government to bring back all their relatives living abroad, home.
According to the Russian site Znak.com, administration staff, regional administrators, lawmakers of all levels, and employees of public corporations have been ordered to take their children out of foreign schools immediately. It is said that failure to comply with Putin’s directives will see officials jeopardizing their chances of promotion in the country.
The country’s politicians and high-ranking figures are said to have also received the same directive from Putin. The directive comes as President Putin canceled a planned visit to the French capital, Paris. Putin was supposed to in Paris on October 19, to inaugurate a spiritual center at a new Russian Orthodox Church near the Eiffel Tower.
But the French president, Francois Hollande had said Syrian forces are committing war crimes in Aleppo with Russia’s support. This angered Putin, leading to the cancellation of his visit to the French nation.
Apart from this, Russia has also suspended a series of nuclear pacts with the United States, including a symbolic cooperation deal to cut stocks of weapons-grade plutonium. The former Soviet leader, Mikhail Gorbachev has also warned that the world is at a ‘dangerous point,’ due to rising tensions between Russia and the United States.
A Russian foreign policy analyst, Fyodor Lukyanov told the French news agency AFP in an interview that the cancelation of the visit to Paris by Putin is so close to being finalized, is a “serious step reminiscent of the Cold War.”
“This is part of the broader escalation in the tensions between Russia and the West, and Russia and NATO,” Lukyanov said.
