The Primitive Technology channel on You Tube has been following an unidentified man around Australia’s far northeastern state of Queensland, for some time now.
The channel is not just following the man for nothing. There is a reason. The channel shows this strange man, who never identifies himself, but does something amazing. The man is seen always building and creating things with his hands, using only things around him.
In a recent video posted by Primitive Technology, the strange man, often called “Prim,” stumbled upon a method of creating iron. In modern scientific terms, it can be referred to as serendipity. His serendipitous invention came after he had created a furnace out of clay.
It is amazing to see the strange man inventing a method of iron extraction out of nothing, but the basics. He gets to work with his bow-drill blower and clay forge, first collecting orange iron bacteria (iron oxide) from the creek. He mixes it with powdered charcoal and wood ash, forms it into a cylindrical brick and fires it in a charcoal oven. The result is a melted iron ore slag with tiny, 1mm-sized specs of iron in it.
Below is one of the videos showing the strange man at work, doing what has attracted attention to him. Since Primitive Technology started posting his videos, the channel has had millions of viewers. Many of the viewers have admired what the strange man is doing from his obscure location. Many have since subscribed to the Primitive Technology channel on You Tube.
Some viewers said the man might have been a reincarnation of the Stone or Bronze Age, and might have been back to this modern world to teach some of the secrets of the ancient world. Others also predicted that people will soon start looking for the man, to learn from him. One viewer wrote: “This man is going to build a civilization.”

A.I don’t live in the wild but just go into the bush to make these projects. Also I camp out here occasionally.

A.Researching books and internet plus trial and error. I’m not indigenous and have no army training.
Q.What about dangerous animals in Australia?
A.The only really dangerous ones in my area are snakes. Care must be taken when walking about and lifting things from the ground.
