I was ambling around the internet when I stumbled upon this strange Facebook page. With a name like “Michael T. Slager Support Fund”, it was hard not to take a look at it. I was fairly cautious about what I might find there, but thankfully the owner of the page does not seem particularly keen on donating anything (beyond a dollar or two) towards the murderous cop.
On the other hand, the owner of the site had also intended to use the money gained to pay off his own car loan so… his motive is hardly altruistic. IndieGoGo pulled his funding and returned it to those who had donated, so he’s still pretty far from paying for his car. A hilarious, confusing and trolling spoof page, we have touching anecdotes like this:
“To the family of Walter Scott, if they’ve even seen this page, and I hope they haven’t, you have my deepest sympathies, I cannot imagine the pain and suffering you must be going through having to relive your loved ones death over and over, in media and on the internet.
To Officer Slager I am not a hateful person and I imagine you aren’t either. You acted from a bad place and life is punishing you far more than my hate ever would.
To everyone who scorned, sent me a bag of dicks, or threatened my life, I want to say I am very proud of each and every one of you. I created this monster to attract monsters and you took up arms together to destroy it. You are the people that make our world great, and society livable. To the misguided, the racist and bigots that donated, sorry but not sorry, please try to get your heads out of your asses it’s 2015. There is no good reason to support this man financially unless you are someone in his family or his friend. If you’re neither of those I’m sure you’re overlooking someone in your own life or community that could use the help much more.”
How does one send “a bag of dicks”…..Oh I see. Pretty balanced fellow, philosophical almo-
oh nevermind.
“as ignoble as my plans were for the money I’d plan to collect were, it was far from a “scam” because unfortunately I knew from the start the Ofc Slager would have to receive a portion of the donations. As the fund manager it’s my decision to determine how much he would have gotten and how much would be my fee. I think putting $5 on his books would be quite appropriate. Last but not least I didn’t get any funds.”

Murderous is questionable; this is not first degree murder. Every man in our society is entitled to professional & competent attorney defense. That costs money. If the state is going to spend a million dollars trying to take a man down, surely the defendant requires substantial funds for defense (in our lame brain system). If Slager doesn’t get a fair trial, what make you think you will when accused of a crime you didn’t commit?
