Urban Outfitters Asks Its Employees To Work For Free

Urban Outfitters, a company which is certainly no stranger to bad publicity, caused quite a stir on social media after it was revealed that the company was asking its salaried employees to work on the weekends – for free.

The company, which is currently experiencing “quite a bit of demand this month,” reportedly requires additional help from ‘volunteers’ in order to keep up with the increased number of orders. As a result, the Philadelphia-based retailer sent out a company-wide email inviting its employees to a “team-building activity” at one of its fulfilment centres.
