White House Holds Press Conference with Star Wars Stormtroopers

(ANTIMEDIA) The irony was not lost when a White House press conference featured two imperial stormtroopers on Friday, Star Wars Day. It’s not clear whether White House officials knew about the backstory regarding stormtroopers, but the parallels cannot be overlooked when it comes to the Sith-led Galactic Empire in Star Wars and the modern day U.S. empire — which is now stretched across at least 100 countries with around 1,000 military installations. Watch the White House Stormtrooper video below:

According to the Star Wars website, “Stormtroopers are elite shock troops fanatically loyal to the Empire and impossible to sway from the Imperial cause. They wear imposing white armor, which offers a wide range of survival equipment and temperature controls to allow the soldiers to survive in almost any environment. Stormtroopers wield blaster rifles and pistols with great skill, and attack in hordes to overwhelm their enemies. Along with standard Stormtroopers, the Empire has organized several specialized units, including snowtroopers and scout troopers.”
