21-year-old Charnesia Corley was on her way to the store to get medicine for her sick mother when she was pulled over by Harris County sheriff’s deputy for allegedly running a stop sign and taken out of her car as they “smelled marijuana”. Corley was handcuffed and placed in the back of his patrol car. However, what seemed like a traffic stop turned into a nightmare for Corley.
After the cop found nothing from Corley’s car, he returned to his patrol car, and told her he smelled it inside his vehicle. He then called a female deputy to do a body cavity search on her. The cops first forced her to pull her pants down in full public view and later performed a sexually violating body cavity search without her consent in the grass of a gas station parking lot because one deputy thought she was hiding weed.
“She tells me to pull my pants down. I told her, I said, ‘well ma’am, I don’t have any underwear on’. She says, ‘well that doesn’t matter. Pull your pants down’,” Corley told ABC13.
While Corley was lying on the ground in the parking lot, the deputy told her, “open your legs”. Corley said she responded that she didn’t want to. “So she says, ‘well if you don’t open them, I’m going to break them’. I bend over and she proceeds to try to force her hand inside of me. I tell her, ‘Ma’am, No. You cannot do this’. All I could do was just lay there. I felt helpless. I feel like they sexually assaulted me. I really do. I feel disgusted, downgraded, humiliated.”
Corley, who is now planning to file a complaint with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office’s Internal Affairs Division, was charged with resisting arrest and possession of marijuana after deputies allegedly found .02 ounces of marijuana. However, the Harris County Sheriff’s Department also argued that Corley consented to the search, which contradicts the allegation that she resisted.
Corley’s attorney, Sam Cammack, said a search in a public place like that is a violation of her civil rights. “It’s undeniable that the search is unconstitutional,” he told ABC13. According to Harris County Sheriff’s spokesperson, Thomas Gilleland, this stop was justified and the department did everything by the book.

I so totally agree. Those that we pay to serve and protect us should not be forcing themselves on women or touching them without consent. Some of the female cops are just as dirty as the male cops.
What precinct was this? Curious because I was molested by 2 black male cops in front of where that old Randalls used to be by bissonette and beechnut by the taco bell. I was underage and drunk being followed by someone I didn’t know making me uncomfortable as he followed me a good ways down the street, through the light and knowing I wasnt interested in whatever he was trying to tell me so I asked the 2 police men who weren’t busy patrolling moving on the road and only jamming out to music in their parked car at 2 in the morning if they could help me as I was drunk and underage with my parents worrying about where I was and they had the nerve to search me with their hands all over. Thank goodness I wasnt made to get naked and that it didnt belong to someone else. I had to grow up strong and was forced and still am encouraged to not fight back if a man offers it seems. I am 25 I dont know what is in the Houston Texas water but I would really love to see you men know its wrong to not get a woman’s CONSCIOUS CONSENT, but of course after you see her ID to know shes of age. After they cupped my brreast and rubbed their fingers through my shirt and bottom areas they let me get in the car and I pretended like it didnt bother me but I would have really hated to hear my teenage daugther, tell me the men and women we “trust” to keep the peace in our streets are no different from any other criminals or WORSE at times. Can get really bad with what they get away with scott free.. I think I was 16 or maybe 17 when this happened. Never reported it to the rest of the County, never told a single person that would remember anyways. My heart goes out to this woman. I dont know what I would do. This is just evil and disgusting. We are not animals.. act right.
This is the exact reason most Citizens have little to no respect for cops. Eighty percent of them are nothing but slimy criminals with badges. In my opinion, they are worst than the criminals on the street because they are being paid by taxpayers to brutalize, murder, and rape us. I have no respect for the criminal rogue dirty cops. There are a few left who do their job by the book but, if they are upholding a fellow cop that they are aware of that is no good then that make them just as bad. If something is not done about these criminals with badges I’m afraid something really bad is going to happen. Some of these dirty cops have gotton really comfortable with committing crime and using the badge to cover it up.
Another horror story in America. When is this kind of behavior going to end? Again, instead of firing the cops, they are PROTECTING them . They did everything by the book? Your sick. That is the problem with ALL these actions by wacko cops. They are protected by their superiors .All i can say is the girl is doing the right thing by Suing the bastards.
