A shocking video has emerged from the United States State of Michigan in the city Roseville where police officers watched on surveillance camera for a man to die after he refused to pay $772 ticket given to him for careless driving by officers.

According to local media reports, 32-year-old David Stojcevski was put in jail by Macomb County officers for 30 days for failing to pay the said traffic fine. But David is said to have suffered 17 of those days with drug withdrawal and died on suicide watch in full view of a surveillance camera and guards who made no apparent effort to help or treat him.

Media outlets who obtained the raw footage of Stojcevski dying admitted that the video is hard to watch. In the video, David is seen naked on the floor of his cell and seemed to be in intense pain, moving back and forth until he eventually stopped moving.

The gory incident is said to have happened in June, 2014 and it is now that the family has secured the footage to know how their beloved died in his cell. Stojcevski’s family has now filed an official lawsuit against the county. The video has also gone viral in and outside Michigan. Many who have watched the video have expressed total disgust about the behavior of the officers.

Senior partner at the firm handling the lawsuit against the Macomb County on behalf of the family, Robert Ihrie said “This is shameful, substantial and unconscionable neglect”. According to the attorney, Stojcevski died of benzodiazepine withdrawal due to lack of his prescribed methadone treatment. The officers neglected him and if he was to be under supervision, the tragedy would have been avoided, Ihrie added.

Also, Stojcevski’s brother, Vladimir alleged in the lawsuit that officers blatantly ignored his brother’s many requests for medication. He said his brother had told the officers who arrested him that he had been prescribed methadone, Xanax, and other drugs due to his condition but nothing was done about it. The family is therefore seeking a “substantial amount” from Macomb County in a wrongful death suit.

WDIV video report may be too graphic for some.
Meanwhile, the Revolution News reports on latest of the story that a lawyer for the county has said that the family lawsuit  against the country “lacks legal merit,” and that he expects the family to lose when the case goes to trial at court of law soon. The lawyer is also said to have admitted that the Macomb County has no immediate plans to settle the family.Activists have said the video has exposed the nature of brutalities police officers have adopted in the US against citizens without absolute disregard to human life. They are therefore demanding an independent investigation into the case and the court to compensate the family for their huge loss.

  1. hi, im currently on methadone and i just wanted to let you know that it is an opioid not a benzodiazepine so he couldnt have died from benzo withdrawl from denial of methadone. i love this site and want its articles to be taken seriously, im not trying to act smart or be rude. thank you for trying to make the world a better place

    • Methadone and xanex/klonopin have nothing to do with each other. Xanex and Kpins are benzo’s, besides alcohol benzo’s are pretty much the only withdrawal you can have die from. Hardly anyone dies from opiate withdrawal, But Benzo withdrawal is known for causing seizures and death. If the person isn’t under close attention at a rehab or facility.

      • Uhhh i dont know where your getting your info from but there have been SEVERAL people who have died from methadone withdrawal if its not done properly! Ive been on methadone for about 5 yrs so i know the things that CAN happen if your not properly dosed down the right way! But i know too here in TN when you go to jail they will not give you any narcotics including methadone. But the way the guards handle this is sickening they could had helped him by putting him in the hospital letting a doctor watch him and again they should had never put him in there too!
