Here’s Why You Should STOP Using Aluminum Foil IMMEDIATELY

Aluminum induces neurotoxicity by altering mitochondria of brain cells, which contributes directly to aging and the rise of degenerative diseases and metabolic issues. Chronic aluminum toxicity greatly reduces osteoblast population and inhibits bone mineralization, resulting in osteoporosis.

Wrapping your food in aluminum foil to keep it warm, fresh, and safe or using aluminum foil for freezing, baking, and grilling is reported as highly likely in damaging your health. If you wrap oven-roasted meat, fish and poultry during cooking to retain moisture and reduce shrinkage and drying; if you use aluminum foil to wrap leftovers — these 4 reasons should be enough to convince you to quit using the neurotoxin heavy metal right away, and/or try safer healthier alternatives…

Aluminum Induces Neurotoxicity

Aluminum induces neurotoxicity by altering mitochondria of brain cells, which contributes directly to aging and the rise of degenerative diseases and metabolic issues. Way back in 1989, researchers from New Orleans VA Medical Center conducted a study that observed  aluminum altering the function of the blood-brain barrier, which regulates exchanges between the central nervous system and peripheral circulation.

“…Any impairment in mitochondrial functions may play a major role in many human disorders including neurodegenerative disorders. Being involved in the production of reactive oxygen species, aluminum may cause impairments in mitochondrial bioenergetics and may lead to the generation of oxidative stress which may lead to a gradual accumulation of oxidatively modified cellular proteins.”

In 2012, a research conducted in Mexico evaluated aluminum induced toxicity on the grass carp C. idella and concluded that the metal produces oxidative stress, is neurotoxic, is involved in the development of neurodegenerative disorders, cognitive decline, and loss of bodily control.

Aluminum Causes Alzheimer’s

While many critics say there is not enough evidence to link the neurotoxic metal to Alzheimer’s (used by thousands for everyday purposes to cook and store food), a latest study conducted at Keele University has confirmed that aluminum plays a role in the devastating brain disease. Professor Chris Exley, lead author of the study, warns:

“Ageing is the main risk factor for Alzheimer’s disease and aluminum accumulates in human brain tissue with ageing.  Environmental or occupational exposure to aluminum results in higher levels of aluminum in human brain tissue and an early onset form of sporadic Alzheimer’s disease. The genetic predispositions which are used to define familial or early-onset Alzheimer’s disease also predispose individuals to higher levels of brain aluminum at a much younger age.

Aluminum is accepted as a known neurotoxin, for example being the cause of dialysis encephalopathy, and its accumulation in human brain tissue at any age can only contribute to any ongoing disease state or toxicity. We should take all possible precautions to reduce the accumulation of aluminum in our brain tissue through our everyday activities and we should start to do this as early in our lives as possible.”

Aluminum Destroys Lungs

Breathing in aluminum particles has been proven to lead to respiratory problems, like pulmonary fibrosis. Furthermore, it has been proven that aluminum smelting fumes can cause bronchoconstriction in susceptible individuals. Moreover, it’s not the factory workers who are at risk – if you grill with aluminum foil, you could be breathing poisonous aluminum particles in the safety of your homes.

While you’re not eating a ball of rolled up foil, when you cook with aluminum at high temperatures parts of the metal are going into your food. High temperatures can create cracks in the metal causing [aluminum] particles to break off into your food. Even if the minuscule pieces don’t break off, chemical leeching of aluminum can happen if you cook with certain spices or use lemons.

Dr Fathia Mohammed and Dr Essam Zubaidy, researchers at American University of Sharjah’s chemical engineering department, warn that one meal cooked in aluminum can have up to 400mg of the metal; according to the World Health Organization, the recommended daily allowance for aluminum is limited to 60mg per person per day.

“Aluminum  foil  used  in  cooking  provides  an  easy  channel  for  the metal  to  enter  the  human  body.  [Therefore], Aluminum foil is not suitable for cooking specially with acidic food. It is also possible that excessive consumption of food baked with aluminum foil may carry a serious health risk.”

Aluminum Weakens Bones

Because aluminum has similar properties to calcium, it can be absorbed into the structure of bones and cause osteoporosis. Vivian Goldschmidt explains:

“High aluminum levels in the body alter bone mineralization, matrix formation, as well as parathyroid and bone cell activity. Ironically, one of the most common signs of excessive aluminum accumulation is hypercalcemia or high calcium levels in the blood. This happens because the presence of aluminum impedes calcium deposition in bone, thus leading to elevated blood calcium levels.

“As a result, PTH secretion, the hormone secreted by the parathyroid hormone, is greatly depressed. Additionally, chronic aluminum toxicity greatly reduces osteoblast population and inhibits bone mineralization, resulting in osteoporosis.”
