ShadowBrokers are the same hackers who stole the NSA hacking tools and spread the update of the hacking of the tool, even starting an auction.
The auction online provided brief details. The tool is named “Equation Group Windows Warez ” and includes Windows exploit tools and can bypass antivirus software.
These tools, originally stolen by the NSA hacking team, The Equation Group, are an old enemy of the ShadowBrokers. In the past, they have leaked other various hacking tools.
Via OnlyZero, the hackers have placed the tool on sale for around 750 bitcoins – more than 670,000 USD.
While it is too difficult for someone to buy this tool securely, the NSA is remaining quiet, most likely working on finding the origins of the hackers behind this sale. The details of the hacking tool sale can be found here.
