The Oklahoma police have confirmed the death of a man who was in need of an emergency help during a floodwater situation in Okmulgee County, about 20 miles south of Tulsa in the State of Oklahoma.
The man identified as Nehemiah Fischer was with his elder brother-Brandon Fischer when a reckless trooper fire his weapon, killing Nehemiah instant in the presence of another trooper.
According to the facts of the matter as narrated by the cnn.com/, the two highway patrol troopers responded to a stranded motorist call and found the Fischer brothers with two vehicles stranded in the floodwater.
The troopers then told the two men to come toward them to safer ground out of the high water but at some point, a row broke out, leading to one of the officers firing his weapon which killed Nehemiah.
According to the Oklahoma police spokesman-Paul Timmons, Nehemiah had grabbed the trooper who shot him and shoved him to the ground. He also said Nehemiah was armed with a 380 handgun.
However, it is unclear why Nehemiah shoved the officer down. His brother (Brandon) has since been in custody for assaulting the officers. The officers involved in the shooting have been identified as Mark Southall (who fired his weapon killing Nehemiah) and Michael Taylor. Both have been placed on administrative leave, according to the police spokesman.
Father of the murdered man, J.R. Fischer, told The Associated Press in an interview that the behavior of his son as narrated by the police didn’t sound like that of his son. He said his son was an assistant pastor at a Church in Tulsa and studied the Bible every day. He described his son as “gentle as a dove with people who needed a hand.”
“When it came to being a Christian man, he was the real deal. He walked the talk”, The Associated Press quoted the father as saying.
Those who knew Nehemiah have also testified to local media that they have never seen him involved in a physical fight with somebody in his entire life.
His brother who will be in a better position to tell what exactly happen has not been allowed to talk to the press by the police.
An attorney has been fighting for a bail bond on behalf of the family for the release of Brandon and he has declined to comment on the issue till the release of Brandon.
Many people are confused and worried about the matter. Granted that Nehemiah was armed, couldn’t the troopers found an alternative way to disarm him rather than firing a live weapon at him, that is a question posed by many.
Another life has been wasted and as usual, you can be rest assured that nothing will happen to the officers who have acted recklessly this way. Policing in the United States has now taken a different direction. Citizens need to be cautious when dealing with any of the law enforcement agencies especially the police. You can be murdered for no clear reason. Citizens are not just crazy people who will go about wanting to foment trouble with the police for no reason.
What we always hear from the police is a victim was armed and posed a direct threat to the police or resisted arrest and so many concocted stories. The police never tell what they have done wrong. Citizens are always wrong in the eyes of the police. This behavior of the police must stop. The police must be responsible with their guns.

It seems to be that this article is slanted against the police, by ignoring the facts. You say the police brutally killed a man that did nothing wrong, and yet the dash cam footage shows the man charging and tackling a police officer. The officers never even had their weapons drawn until the pastor acted recklessly. I suggest you, and everyone else, should research the topic and issue at hand; especially since this information has been released days before this article was posted. It does no good having a knee-jerk response based on emotion rather than fact.
