A white police officer in the city of Oklahoma, United States has been charged with 32 counts of rape, sexual battery, and oral sodomy on 13 different black women.

According to Filming Cops, officer Daniel Holtzclaw was first suspended from the city’s police department after 10 women initially came out boldly to report that he had forcefully had sex with them.

Another three women including a minor followed up and also told investigators how officer Holtzclaw had sexually assaulted them when he arrested them for no reason. The minor said Holtzclaw forced her to commit sexual acts while he was in uniform and on duty.

One of the three womens told investigators Officer Holtzclaw said to her “You’re either going to give me some sex, or your ass is going to jail!”

Another woman also alleged that the officer said to her “This is what you’re going to have to do. I don’t want to take you to jail.” And then, began penetrating her by force.

Prosecutors said detectives started to investigate Holtzclaw in August 2014, and used GPS records from his patrol car to place him at the scene of the alleged crimes. Holtzclaw worked from 4pm to 2am shift in northeastern part of the city.

The KFOR News reports that Police Chief for the Oklahoma City Police Department, William Citty was very disappointed in his Officer and had strong words for him.

“Your offenses committed against women in our community constitute the greatest abuse of police authority I have witnessed in my 37 years as a member of this agency. These violations more than warrant your termination from the Oklahoma City Police Department”, Chief Citty said.

The Police Department has since terminated his appointment but there are suspicions by the black community in the city that the women might not get fair trial due to how the court is handling the case.

The Guardian reports that though African-Americans make up 16% of the population of Oklahoma County, there are no black people among the eight men and four women on the jury.

Many activists have criticized this decision by the court, suspecting that the officer might be left off the hook or will receive a lesser punishment for the crime he is alleged to have committed. According to lawyers, Holtzclaw faces life in prison if found guilty.

“We’re very disappointed that we don’t have any minorities on there … We’re not saying justice can’t prevail but we can be suspicious of it being run in a manner,” Oklahoma City National Association for the Advancement of Colored People president Garland Pruitt told the KOCO local news outlet.

Legal director for the American Civil Liberties Union in Oklahoma, Brady Henderson said all-white juries in Oklahoma are “relatively uncommon but certainly not unheard of”.

In addition to exclusionary tactics such as peremptory challenges, Henderson said systemic factors risk making Oklahoma juries unrepresentative, especially in federal court where jurors’ names are taken from voter registration lists and a disproportionate number of black people are not registered. In state court, where Holtzclaw is being tried, names are culled from drivers’ license and ID cards.

Racial composition of juries is attracting national scrutiny across the US. Recently, the Supreme Court heard a case about alleged racial bias in jury selection during a 1987 murder trial that could have an impact on the way jurors are picked in future. Last month also, a judge in Kentucky dismissed an entire jury because he felt it was not representative of the community.

  1. Whoever posted this blog should get fired immediately! There are mispelled words and wrong sentence structures in this blog. I am currently still writing my book, but I want to start in blogging as well, with the right grammar knowledge and great organization. If by any chance I can have the oportunity to be hired, I can assure the company that I am one of the very best writters in the world. Please feel free to Contact me if there is any writing job oportunity

    • someone needs to add an edit button to these articles, definitely! Oh, and do not give out your phone number on a blog unless you mind spam on that number.

    • If you are one of the best writers in the world (funny, I have never heard of you)they have ways of applying for a position without sounding so arrogant! Regardless of how perfect their grammar was or wasn’t, they got their point across, which is the main point, it’s content that counts in a blog

    • Dude there’s not that many errors. I looked through and saw no more than 3 misspelt words, 2 missing commas and 2 cases where a different word should have been used. That’s not that much. It still makes sense and you can still read it. There’s no need to call for the guy to get sacked.

    • So, you read that horrible account of how an officer abused his power to perform horrific acts on other human beings….. and your only thought is “What bad writing”

      What is wrong with people?

    • Please feel free to “contact” me if there “are” any writing job “opportunities”. Now I’ve corrected you does that make me the best writer in the world?
As for the article, he should rot.

  2. am i the only one who thinks that this man is shows very strong signs of the down syndrome?? Which would indicate that his judgement is restricted which means he’s not suitable for the job of a police officer. Despite all that, i could be wrong but it definitely led me to thinking about sampling methods used there??

  3. Many cops target prostitutes because they know these vulnerable women have no recourse in the court system. In Germany and elsewhere where legal prostitution holds sway there is very little police harassment. Time to legalize prostitution all over the United States.

  4. Why does he look so much like he has Down Syndrome, was my first thought. Second, why did they have to investigate this guy for a year before taking action? How many women were raped in that time period? If I was one I would sue them!
