Dr. Robert Weiss sold his New York office to purchase a 348-acre farm in Long Valley in order to practice ‘farmacy’ in a bid to make people healthy. After treating Hudson County patients for over 25 years, Weiss started New Jersey’s first farm-based medical practice, centered on plant-based ‘food as medicine’ rather than drugs or surgery.
Fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts, beans and seeds contain nutrients that prevent inflammation. Therefore, Weiss believes that the right food and the correct plant-based medicine can fix, treat, prevent and cure chronic diseases.
“Plant-based whole foods are the most powerful disease-modifying tools available to practitioners — more powerful than any drugs or surgeries. I am not saying if you fall down and break your ankle, I can fix it by putting a salve of mugwort on it. You need someone to fix your fracture. I am talking about treating and preventing chronic disease — the heart attacks, the strokes, the cardiovascular disease, the cancers…the illnesses that are taking our economy and our nation down,” he told NJ.com.
He also launched Ethos Health, a community-supported agriculture project to encourage people to get enthusiastic about their diets. His farmers have produced fresh vegetables, fruit and herbs for 90 families who have paid a membership fee and who volunteered their time, picking crops and weeds.
“Human health is directly related to the health of the environment, the production of food and how it is grown. I see this farm as an opportunity for me to take all the biology and chemistry of plants I have studied, and link them to the human biological system,” he added.
Weiss’ food recommendations of a plant-based diet including organic grains, steamed vegetables, fruit, and plain water. It transformed Angie Rotella-Suarez’s mother’s life completely – after just 2 weeks Angie’s mother stopped taking her blood pressure medication, left her wheelchair (and 40 pounds) behind, and started doing, and enjoying, daily household chores. “Weiss is the best of what the medical profession has to offer,” Angie remarked.
We couldn’t agree more.
What total bullshit. This guy’s a sociopathic narcissist.
