Girl Steals iPhone, Posts 13 Selfies On Owner’s Facebook Account

A minor girl stole Denver citizen Rawley Bingham’s iPhone from her purse at a bar on March 21 where both of them were hanging out but not together. However, the iPhone thief’s love for selfies may soon catch her. The girl didn’t know that Bingham had downloaded an app on her iPhone which would automatically upload pictures, taken from the phone’s camera, to her Facebook timeline. So when she started clicking her selfies, she inadvertently was posting them on Bingham’s Facebook account.

The iPhone thief’s selfies went viral on Facebook. People started visiting Bingham’s Facebook page to comment and send messages to her. The minor girl went ahead and started responding to the comments and messages being sent to Bingham. Bingham said she got reports from her friends that the thief had been using Bingham’s Facebook to respond to them. So she posted her own Facebook status – warning her friends about the imposter using her phone.

Denver police called on Bingham’s number to contact the thief who goes by the alias of Lil Momma. Lil Momma responded and promised to return the iPhone but she hasn’t. The Metro Denver Crime Stoppers has announced a $2,000 reward for information about the girl. You can call in a tip at (720) 913-STOP and remain anonymous.

  1. The theif’s mother got involved and will be delivering the phone. This was reported yesterday, and your story is posted today.

  2. I just have to laugh at the stupidity of the theif. A cell phone is one of those things you can’t steal. Their are too many apps like find my iphone that lead you directly to it. Secondly police can get the location of the phone as well through triangulating the system through what towers you hit, not to mention it has a built in gps.

The part that is disturbing is that the police called and talked to her!? And they know she stole the phone and arent pressing charges or have a warrent for her arrest?

Doin nothing to dicipline these people shows other people that they too can steal stuff and the penalty is a slap on the wrist if their lucky to even get that.

And what was the minor doin in a bar??

  3. You can’t steal a cellphone? obviously you haven’t tried… as for the triangulation of the IMEI number? providers won’t do it unless there is a court order, because they WANT you to buy a new phone off them, that and they’re too lazy HAHAHA. It’s really easy to shut off GPS/mobile data even if you’re locked out of the phone. Shut up Osiris, back to well

  4. This is so ridiculous…all over a stupid cell phone. A $2000 reward for a phone that costs $600. Then on top of that it sounds like people want her to do hard time for a non-violent crime. Just goes to show that society places more value on their possessions. Maybe the girl needs some help or to be shown a different way of achieving things.

    • The theft of a cell phone is not just the theft of the physical device. It is also the theft of the cell service, personally identifying information and potentially money if the phone is used to make purchases with the phone owner’s credit cards.

When my company phone was stolen in an airport a year ago, it cost my company way more than the price of the phone to replace it.
