You can call them bad, you can say they are doing it wrong, you can say whatever you want, but they do know how to create propaganda. As a matter of fact, the collection can literally lean back with their feets up you know when it’s not their busy day – like killing people for instance in growing and ‘creatively’ horrific ways. And when they do that we as people who like to post everything on social media (even or personal lives) help them promote their propaganda. But thank god! The Internet giant Google wants to help reduce this and have decided to keep Daaesh, ISIS or ISIL away from the worldwide ‘surface’ web and keep them lurking in the realms of the deep or dark internet. Although lots of people will challenge the necessity of shoving the radical set farther clandestine and motivate them to make use of even more deceptive resources to which the major search engine company believes that ISIL information that is designed to mislead people is not for the surface or open web – the fewer people see it, the better it is – but should only be accessed from a special internet tool. Director of Google Ideas and an Adjunct Senior Fellow of the Council on Foreign Relations Jared Cohen says that this makes sense to keep ISIS away from the open web and all of its propagandas, he said this during a speech at the Chatham House in the Royal Institute of International Affairs.
He further stated that this idea is a proposition which is going to split beliefs, due to the perception of freedom of speech while having the extreme objective of minimizing extremism. Daaesh is going a good job – as good as the big companies trying to infiltrate our minds using advertisement – of infiltrating people’s mind via smart utilization of social networks, and the airing of alarming videos that individuals are only quite thrilled to share, an element that has helped to spread them everywhere online.
However, Jared is convinced that the team must certainly be prevented from making use of world wide web completely since they are functioning completely over the internet that is normally used for normal things. Therefore, triumph appears in Daaesh limitations in the inaccessible web. Currently, the open internet is being used by ISIS for recruiting new people. Jared Cohen implies that the sole strategy to strike again is to reduce the collection’s viewers, which can basically be accomplished by restricting the group to the deep web. He further made a request saying that all of the social media accounts to be closed by the respective companies running them. Since ISIS is a very sophisticated organization with their secure encrypted messaging applications and very ‘somewhat’ technically advance physically – even the hacking division – is not to be taken lightly. Which brings us down to thinking, is this a good idea to remove ISIL, ISIS or Daaesh from the surface or open internet, will this reduce their online propaganda, will this drop the number of recruits or will this make it more difficult for us to fight them since they will be lurking in the dark web?
