Undercover video released on Wednesday by animal rights organization, Mercy for Animals, shows how chickens are treated before being turned into McDonald’s famous Chicken McNuggets.
The graphic footage was filmed at T&S Farm in Dukedom, Tennessee by an investigator for Mercy for Animals, who applied for a job at the Tyson Foods-contracted farm earlier this year.
The covert activist, who worked at T&S in July and August, captured images of workers beating chickens with nails attached to makeshift clubs and stepping on the heads of live chickens. One employee can be heard on video asking, “You don’t work for PETA, do you?” before bludgeoning a chicken to death with a homemade spiked bat.
Both Tyson — who would use the chicken from the plant to supply McDonald’s with meat for their McNuggets — and McDonald’s have since distanced themselves from the Tennessee farm.
“Members of our animal well-being team are investigating, however, based on what we currently know, we are terminating the farmer’s contract to grow chickens for us,” said a Tyson spokesperson via email.
McDonalds echoed those sentiments in a statement of its own: “We believe treating animals with care and respect is an integral part of a responsible supply chain and find the behavior depicted in this video to be completely unacceptable. We support Tyson Foods’ decision to terminate their contract with this farmer.”
Despite the swift “action” by both corporations, this isn’t the first time the animal rights’ group has caught Tyson abusing animals. Just last month, Mercy for Animals released a video exposing the torture of chickens at a different Tyson Farm in Delaware.

So now we have more Americans unemployed? Nice job. How about change the working practices of the business? Replace the workers\managers not doing their job and have a new training process for new employees?
Mark, I think it was an individual farmer raising chickes on a large scale and selling them to Tyson? If that’s the case they’d have to find a different source.
Now here is a typical response from someone who is obviously on the republican side of things. Mark from anus, and I know it’s spelled wrong but on purpose because your statement comes from your head so far up your ass. This doesn’t lead to unemployment, just new contracts. So to enlighten you and the rest of the ridiculous American people who agree with you, this means some other company with more people employed will get the contract and so puts other people to work. Before you go off and speak stupidy, sit down and use your brain and common sense to figure things out instead of just speaking out of your own ass and looking like one too. Maybe it’s time to gather all you morons and put ou in chicken coups and step on your heads for a change. WAKE THE HELL UP MORONS!!!!

I’m surprised, I didn’t even think the Nuggets were made with actual meat, let alone real chicken.
they really need an upvote system on here, for comments like this
I cant see why they can’t just find an efficient way to at least ring the neck of multiple chickens at one time, therefore saving cruelty
Isn’t just killing it in any fashion cruel. They have to die in order to eat it. That’s what is all about!
Are we really becoming a bunch of pu¿¿YS ?
Joe, obviously you are as stupid as Mark From his Anus. There is a right way and a wrong way to kill animals as well as criminals, but since you think the way you do, than maybe you are the real pussy and need to have your head pulled from your ass as well. Better yet, do the world a favor and jump off the nearest bridge and prove you are no pussy like the rest of us.
Killing for meat isn’t cruel–it’s an unpleasant necessity. But there are ways it can be done so that the death can be quick and therefore less ‘cruel’ than stomping the chicken’s head or hitting it with a club covered in nails. Cut its head off and be done with it. Not only is that not ‘cruel,’ it’s cleaner.
But hey, if you want to eat tortured animals go ahead and get your own chickens and beat and stomp them. Sounds like you’re cut out for that.
Lol!!! There’s a big McDonald’s Ad right in the middle of the page!
