He made a fake Facebook profile posing as a 15-year-old boy. With the parents’ permission , he friend-requested three girls aged 14, 13, and 12. After he chatted with them for 3 to 4 days, he decided to meet them in person. He then filmed the meet-ups, along with the parents’ shock and anger over their daughters’ dangerous decisions.

The video was uploaded on August 10 and has garnered 19 million-plus views in just 4 days. “How easy is it for a pedophile to pick up an underage child using social media?” Coby Persin, 21, who helped three New York-based parents teach their daughters a thing or two about trusting people they meet on the Internet, asks in the beginning of the video, proving in the end that it’s not difficult at all. After the soicla experiment was over, Corby said there are over 750,000 registered sex offenders currently living in the United States – and perhaps more parents need to have serious discussions with their children about what could happen if they act irresponsibly. • It is in paranthesis for a reason…
But regarding the article – screw the registered sex offenders, most of it happens with not yet registered people, that’s why it is so dangerous.

    • Notice the quotes around the word pedophile..that means he played as one in a catfish-like setup to prove a point. Maybe people shouldn’t be so sensitive and take some midol

    • It’s in quotes. They are not calling him a pedophile. They are using the term loosely, to bring more context to the article itself.

  1. I understand it’s extremely important to teach kids not to talk to strangers or go out and meet up with strangers, it’s very dangerous. But what I don’t agree with is screaming your god damn head off at your child. They don’t hear you when you scream and yell and grab them by the arms, they just retreat inside and wait until the screaming ends and they don’t listen, the lesson is not learned. TALK TO your child. Do not YELL AT your child. The first girls dad obviously uses verbal abuse on a daily basis, she jumped out of her skin when he came at her screaming his head off, he shouldn’t have a child.

    • Well if you actually look at REAL life then you would notice that most kids just don’t listen and comprehend what their parents say anyways. Regardless if they are talked too about it, or have it screamed at them when they get caught like in here.

So, I mean be realistic here. It doesn’t really matter how you tell your child to not trust people online. Because there is still a 50/50 chance on any given day that they would not listen, not remember it after a few days, and or disregard it entirely.

    • Well obviously talking to them in private at first didn’t work the first time, with kids you can almost guarntie it wont work the second time.

  2. They’re not calling him a pedophile, its to grab parents attention so they can see how easy it is for a pedophile to kidnap teens.
