Not as recently the government of Turkey has enacted nationwide bans on Facebook, Twitter and Youtube. If you remember the revolution of Egypt in 2011, you might remember that this was a revolution made possible through social media. The dictatorship of Turkey fears a revolution by the people.
The people of Turkey have reached out through Anonymous promote their message of peace and liberty. They wish to end the oppressive rule of a dictator and open the country to be run by the interests of the people (republic). The AK Party has released a manifesto for the November 1st elections. If the party does not stand down and open up voting to the public, Red Hack and Anonim has threatened to take down the national election systems on October 30, 2015 before the election can occur.
