Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal, a nephew of late King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, is donating all of his personal wealth to philanthropy over the coming years to help build a “better world of tolerance, acceptance, equality and opportunity for all.”
Alwaleed, who said that “it is a commitment without boundaries, a commitment to all humankind,” pledged his entire $32 billion to charitable projects to help build bridges to foster cultural understanding, develop communities, empower women, enable youth, provide vital disaster relief, and create a more tolerant and accepting world.
The Prince said in a statement, “Based on my dedication and passion for philanthropic work for the past 35 years, I now pledge to donate my entire wealth to the Alwaleed Philanthropies, which work in the main fields of intercultural understanding, supporting needy communities, through health promotion, eradication of diseases, provision of electric power to remote villages and hamlets, building orphanages and schools, and much more, as well as providing disaster relief and empowering women, youth and poverty alleviation. This donation will be allocated according to a well-devised plan throughout the coming years. It will be based on a strategy that is supervised and managed by a board of trustees headed by me to ensure that it will be used after my death for humanitarian projects and initiatives.”
“You may rightly wonder, why am I doing this? My response is that everyone goes through certain life-changing situations that have a great effect on his or her crucial future decisions. I have had the opportunity to witness, first hand, the challenging conditions of many communities across the globe, and have stood among those who were suffering and in great need. I have also learned of overwhelming obstacles through meetings with the leaders of countries and communities around the world… Given the world’s current economic and social conditions, and the devastating effects of war and natural disasters around the world, more collaborative efforts are required from all capable individuals to unify their stand in the effort to alleviate poverty in the most deprived communities and to advance and build their societies.”

i’m very sceptical of the motives for this announcement. Is he going as far as denouncing certain inhumane activities that go on in his country, by his family members even…..like slavery to name just one..?? or maybe he is afraid to speak out. is he an activist or just a philanthropist who knows there’s a lot wrong and he just wants to do his small bit to try and effect change….? very thought provoking in any case
my whole world problem c ooo uld be solved withh $100,000.00. thats interest money for him.
Teaming with The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and such.. Yeah, we know what these super rich are up to. I guess philanthropy is the new guise for the super rich
The Prince is a very gracious and compassionate man. He realizes that he is blessed, and wishes to use those blessings in service to his fellow man. We are all one family under the Creator of the Heavens, and he has taken the duty to care for his earthly family. I have eternal respect for his intentions.
The Prince is a very gracious and compassionate man. May his blessings instill hope to many people in unfortunate circumstances. He is a model that all should follow. Jesus once asked, “would you give up all you own, and follow me?” The Prince has answered that.
I don’t think he was answering Jesus……hahaha
our narrow civilization http://waltherpragerandphilosophy1.blogspot.ro/2013/11/narrow-civilization.html
Man, I just need two thousand for a down payment for a house for my children. I can’t fathom having so much wealth. Just wow.
How about donating to cancer research and cancer patients directly? #ForTinaMarie #breastcancer #fighter

Bill Gates has all the money in the world, his foundation does not need more. Especially when he lives off of capitalism which is a system we should not feed. Why doesn’t he start his own organization with that money and provide more jobs for people in his home country that are in poverty there? I could solve the world’s problems with less than a quarter of a billion dollars. I see emotions but no actions. I want to see somebody with that much money actually have the drive for change, not the mere want for maybe a few years from now. WE NEED IT NOW. TODAY.
I WORKED FOR THE PRINCE FOR 25 YEARS AND HAVE SEEN FIRST HAND WHAT HE CAN DO ?
May Allah bless this man and bis family and give him the highest level of paradise AMEEN
Apparently, Anonymous has the most uneducated, ignorant group of followers in existence. You people sound stupid as fuck.
This is a good news that Allah (sw) likes. Its also a lesson for many wealthy people around the globe. I suspect of the management and the genuine implementation of the project. The neighbors (countries like ours (East Africans)) are to be considered primarily according to our religion in this project. The other case to mention is the project under such huge investment should not be narrowed and problems such as cancer , diabetics, heart problems, malaria, poverty reduction, etc shall be included.Remember when you start to do something great like this , there are always groups to support and condemn, but try to do good did irrespective of what individuals say. Hope to succeed!!!
May Allah sw like your did ; Inshallah!!!
Good did is always liked by normal positive thinking humans and moreover by the almighty Allah (s.w.). There may be groups to condemn but be positive in your life to think, act and do good, ignoring the negatives. Broaden your project and the sectors to be considered and prioritize neighboring countries like East Africans, according to the guide by Qur’anl Karim , i.e., ” The right of neighbors”. May Allah Like your Work. Good Luck!!!
