If your information is on Indexeus, you can send us a message (visit the Contact Page) to know where your information came from, and how can you remove it. We’ll also give you some tips on the Help Desk to help you better secure your information and accounts.
Is there anyway to prevent this from happening or to know a breach beforehand?
No, it’s impossible to know when a database is going to be breached or hacked. Altho we can provide you with a watchlist service that will notify you when a database has been breached that contains your information in it.

This is Jason, the owner of Indexeus. First of all, I would like to make clear that we’re not a company, we’re a movement. And I trully appreciate you having the time to make an article regarding Indexeus, but I think you over-heard our intentions.
We are free to use. We don’t charge money for information and specialy we don’t charge money to blacklist.
We’re not amassing a great deal of “exposed” hackers, we’re amassing a great deal of general information. That’s how the media made their own judgment regarding Indexeus, that we’re collecting data regarding “hackers”. Well, that’s definitely NOT what we do. We’re not specific.
I’m just a bit disappointed at Anonymous, who activily fights over media influence, to be so easily swayed by what they read.
