After One Year Of Investigation: Cops who shot 12-year-old Tamir Rice acted… ‘reasonably’ ?

There are two separate investigations involving a police officer not only shooting a 12-year-old child, but ultimately killing the child.

A 911 phone call was made and the caller was stating there is a young boy in which was holding a weapon and aiming it at people. The caller also said the gun was probably fake twice during the initial phone call to the local police.

Shortly after the phone call, a black police car drives up near Tamir Rice, as the young child approaches the police car one of the police officers jumped out of the passenger’s side and shot Tamir Rice, one of the shots was crucial as it went into his chest. After the cop shot Tamir, he backed away to cover himself at the rear of the car. After the shooting, Tamir’s sister was there to aid her brother and as a result was tackled to the ground with brute force before being forced into the back of the police car.

Because of the force used upon Tamir’s sister, the police officers were not able to provide proper first aid care to Tamir, as a result is probably the reason in which Tamir died in the hospital the next afternoon. 140117-tamir-rice-1847_75878790a4527a9d3f3d341b45f2ca9d.nbcnews-fp-1200-800

The killing of Tamir Rice happened at a bad time for law enforcements all over the country as there are several videos and images scattered across the world wide web about police shooting and/or killing young black males. With each new shooting, protesters rage only flares up. The reports of the officers are that Tamir Rice was holding an air-soft gun when the officers showed up and started to shoot the young child.

As we can see in the video, Tamir walks up to the officer’s car and is not armed. The police just jump out and start shooting. There is no denying a video leak in a case like this. The law enforcement officers are clearly in the wrong throughout the entire scene.

The protestors started off in Cleveland with a couple hundred, then shortly expanded to thousands everywhere. The protesting flared up when the police stated that Tamir was in fact holding a weapon and was considered armed. The report is that Tamir was holding an air-soft weapon, however, these toy guns are supposed to have an orange tip to signal the fake weapon will not cause much, if any, harm to anyone. The police seen at the scene of the crime had reported two inconsistencies statements in which they informed the young child to drop the gun and raise his hands. However, in the video there is no such evidence as to any means of the officers inflicting any means of a conversation.

Tamir’s family has filed for a wrongful killing in December of last year, the case is still pending one year later. Even if the young child did possess a toy gun, why where real guns involved on such a young child instead of the officers Taser could have been more than efficient.
