Pedophile Hunters Trap 57-Year-Old Pervert Trying To Meet 13-Year-Old Girl For Sex [VIDEO]

Stephen Short, 57, turned up with two bottles of wine and Viagra tablets at the Tower Clock at Newcastle’s Centre for Life, thinking to have sex with a 13-year-old girl he had met on the Internet. Little did he know that he was being snared by Dark Justice, an online vigilante group. According to Chronicle Live, the group filmed the confrontation, and passed on their evidence to the police. After he pleaded guilty to attempting to meet a child following grooming at Newcastle Crown Court, he was sentenced to 16 months in prison and was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for 10 years.

Announcing the judgment, Mr Recorder Bernard Gateshill QC said:

“You have committed a very serious offence. There is really no mitigation for your conduct, save for your plea of guilty. Your culpability, in my view, is high. It is clear from your communications that you intended, if you could, to have penetrative sex with a 13-year-old girl. You did your best to arrange a meeting, you came prepared with drinks that you would have used to inebriate your victim, if there had been a 13-year-old girl waiting for you, and came equipped with Viagra tablets to assist you. Fortunately, no such girl was waiting for you and you were arrested at that stage by the police, who had been informed of your behaviour, which had been monitored by a representative of an organisation called Dark Justice.”

Prosecutor Nick Adlington told the court that Short had groomed the teenager over a two-week period in June and had been told on a number of occasions that she was only 13. Despite that Short spoke about having sexual intercourse, sent explicit videos of himself, asked for photos of her on Scout and WhatsApp and arranged to meet her on June 27 so they could “watch DVDs”.

A spokesman for the Dark Justice said, “This is the fourth court case and fourth person sent to prison. Surely this is proof our evidence is good. We don’t consider ourselves vigilantes – we are an organisation fighting for change.”
