It has now been confirmed, that a school principal in Stone Mountain, Georgia, who was caught on camera calling out “all the black people” for leaving a graduation ceremony during the valedictorian’s speech, has been sacked by school authorities.
Principal Nancy Gordeuk, of TNT Academy, unreservedly scolded black attendees for being disrespectful at a graduation ceremony, saying into the microphone, “You people are being so rude, to not listen to this speech. … Look who’s leaving … all the black people.”
Thereafter, she came under intense fire, with many calling for her dismissal for singling black people out in an obvious racist manner. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), had said Nancy should be dismissed for that reckless comment.
The school runs a college preparatory program that provides credits for a high school diploma through independent study and teacher-assisted instruction. It was towards the end of the ceremony that the principal made the disparaging comments.
After the public outburst about Nancy’s behavior, CNN claimed Nancy had written to them to officially apologize for her comment.
“I deeply apologize for my actions made in the emotional state of trying to let this last student finish his speech. My emotions got the best of me. I take a personal interest in the success of every student that comes through our doors without regard to their race, religion or ethnicity,” the CNN quoted from Nancy’s letter.
But despite this purported plea of mercy, Heidi Anderson-chairwoman of the board of directors for TNT Academy in Stone Mountain, announced in a statement, which was also copied to the Gwinnett County chapter of the NAACP, that the board of the school has made the decision due to the grave nature of Nancy’s comment.
“In light of recent events, the board of directors of TNT Academy has moved to dismiss Nancy Gordeuk as principal. During the coming transition, we will continue to prioritize support for our most recent graduates. Moreover, we will continue our commitment to providing students with the best educational classes, transcription services and academic credit recovery possible,” the statement of her dismissal said.
According to witnesses of the ceremony, put together by the Daily Mail, Nancy lost control of the ceremony when she skipped over the valedictorian’s speech and dismissed the graduating class early.
The valedictorian’s mother, who was sitting directly in front of the podium, then stood up as the recession music started and waved Nancy down saying ‘You missed his speech! You missed his speech!‘
Nancy then returned to the podium and told the class to come back into the auditorium so that they could hear the valedictorian speech. but because the crown were in motion already, many failed to heed to her command, leading to her reckless outburst which singled out only black people.
The NAACP has said it welcomed the academy’s decision to terminate Nancy’s appointment, saying in a statement, “Beyond the inappropriate remarks, the former principal attempted to legitimize the bizarre episode by claiming ‘the devil made her do it.’ The Flip Wilson defense may have worked for a comedian, but not a chief educational official charged with the overall day-to-day management of academic and school operations.”
Meanwhile, according to CNN, several people who were in attendance of the graduation ceremony said Nancy had created a hostile environment long before she made the offending remark about the black people who had attended the event.
As it stands now, Nancy has been fired, however concern has now increased around the issue of individuals and large groups regularly being exposed to racism in the country. Change must come. The nation cannot continue on this path. Human beings are equal regardless of their color and we should all join hands to fight those who seek to divide the human race.

Maybe it WAS all the black people leaving. Did any whites leave? Maybe…Maybe not.
Did you not see the dozens of black students that were sitting in the front who only left after her racial slur? On top of it, it was her fault for messing it all up.
Yeah I know it sounds messed up but if it was the black people leaving why is she fired for pointing out what was happening I guess it’s racist to make an observation lol

FreeSpeech? Compliance with authority seems to be the issue to me. Must free speech be politically correct? I know I listen to a lot of repugnant opinion. Maybe an employee’s speech should represent the opinions of an organization in some cases? But the organization would then claim that opinions expressed don’t necessarily represent them, so, what’s the point of suppressing the opinion? However, if students fail to comply with directives of school administrators, & the majority of those who fail to comply are accustomed to successful defiance of authority because they are part of a politically combustible group & habitually holler “racism” to get their way like manipulative sociopaths, then she remarks about that in a less than perfectly refined manner … seems to me the problem in that setting wasn’t necessarily racism so much as political correctness in disciplining the students, & let’s think about this — she’s probably not paid much, anyway, so to her the firing may have been a favor. Wonder how many people with perfectly polished oratory skills they’ll find to replace her, all other things (like pay) being equal?
Was she arrested for the speech? No? Then it’s not a free speech issue. How many times does this need to be explained?!
True enough, dunno what it’s like to be in school, there, but that looked like a graduation ceremony, people (should) know each other when they’ve been in school together so long, so things may not be as they seem to me. The same actions in another context would come across a different way. Perhaps the problem is racism, but seems more cultural if, as she said, blacks were the only ones leaving. Why were they leaving? White valedictorian, didn’t want to hear the speech because the black competitor was cheated out of the honor (by racist teachers)? Perhaps a lack of respect for the ceremony, & the sense of freedom when the graduation is a done deal, so then there was freedom to do as they pleased, & finally show contempt for a ceremony that’s not generally relished by people who shouldn’t have to prove themselves any more than the white folks? Were those kids who got all the way to the event by keeping their heads down who finally felt free to act out, once they had what they came for? Or was it a behavior she saw on a daily & continuing basis in her school? It’s probably inappropriate to draw conclusions from that single event, but the cavalier dismissal of a person tasked with such a demanding job with so little reward should not go unnoticed, either. It would be interesting to see if there’s any subsequent follow up in the media about that, or if it’s another product of a media intended to introduce a propaganda effect or, perhaps, for the probative value that might be demonstrated by the audience. IE, what do people think? Will they respond? etc., sort of like market research.
Yep, she screwed up. It was not ALL the black people, only some. I am sure there were other “colors” that were disrespectful too. There is one problem with this story though….Who gives a rats ass about what that racist ass NAACP thinks, says, or does?
Notice how after she said that, a lot of people, both black and white immediately got up and left. Good for them. AND, not only was she being racist, she was also being verbally abusive, calling people “goobers” and cowards and stuff. Something is definitely wrong with her, but I doubt it’s the devil.
Glad she got fired. We could use someone like whoever caught her on camera.
