Detailed below is a list or some of the many companies that still test on animals. Many of these companies own popular and widely recognised brands. Although some of the individual brands do not test on animals (Burt’s Bees, The Body Shop, Pureology and Urban Decay) they are owned by corporations that do. Therefore, when you purchase any of these products you are essentially helping to fund these inhumane practices.
Additionally, many of these companies claim that they do not test on animals “unless required by federal or local regulators,” meaning the company has sacrificed their ethics in order to sell their products in other countries and increase their profits.

Hello, you have incorrectly used Coca-Cola instead of Pepsi.
Yes it’s hard for me to take this list seriously when they list Coke as owning Pepsi and Pepsi brands. I care about this issue but I cannot believe this list is correct.
I would rather see a list of products that DO NOT test on animals, so I know what products to buy. I am in the process of attempting to live a vegan life, which is more than just eating, it’s what cosmetics I wear, what body wash and shampoo I use, what lotions, what clothes I wear…so please tell me what I CAN use, instead of what I cannot.
Those companies tend to be small and not international. That is why a list cannot be made.
agree 100%…easier to know what to buy, check out PETA website 😀
I agree! There are too many companies STILL test on animals. I was trying to read all the names to remember but it’s just too too many!
Then why don’t we make one?
me too!! this list is too long and can’t believe they still are allowed to test on animals!! it’s fine to test their own shit of course, but then hire ppl and tell them what they are testing. in other words, test it on the bosses or hire ppl to test them on themselves! definitely not on animals who can’t even get a life bc it’s lock up, then tortured by experiments, which we will see as inhumane if we did on humans. same goes for every living being!!
Leaping Bunny is a good resource for products that do not test on animals. They even have an app so you can double check when your out in the real world. http://www.leapingbunny.org/shopping.php
I just have to say how thrilled i am about there being a post on here about animal testing! Just like the people, animals are being treated cruelly, with unjust and criminal actions being imposed upon them.
I too would rather see a list of what we can use, instead of what was tested on animals. This is way to many brands to keep track on.
And exactly how many brands do you think that exist in the world, 1000? The list of brands that do not test on animals would be 1000 times longer. I’m sure you already recognized the brands you know and use and you can stop using them consequently.
I agree with you Friday. Rather than trawling through the many companies to avoid I would love to see a shorter list of acceptable companies that I could download and print to take shopping with me.
why don’t you make one?
i agree
I agree, please show us what we can use…if any….thanks Anon
EDIT: THE BODY SHOP is against animal testing and all products are certified by Cruelty Free International
The body shop was cruelty free but they’re now owned by L’oreal who don’t hold the same ethics. L’oreal test, the body shop don’t but you’re still supporting animal testing when you shop at the body shop
I don’t think this list is entirely correct….if you want a list of cruelty free products get the “Cruelty free” app (leaping bunny). Liz Earle and Burts Bees are listed as cruelty free on the app so I would question the trustworthiness of this article (or the app, although leaping bunny seem fairly reliable).
Did you read the first paragraph Victoria? It says that it is listing all the brands owned by a parent company, not differentiating between brands that do and do not test on animals because if you buy one of their brands you are supporting all of them – eg buying from The Body Shop supports L’Oreal’s brands that do test on animals
Burt’s Bees is owned by Clorox.
One of the biggest animals testers is not mentioned here – Estee Lauder. Why isn’t it included?
Also, anyone exporting to China must test their products on animals first, as Chinese regulations require them to do so.
Chino do not requiere test on animals for make up and creams since 2014, but they do not forbid to sell if they are test on animals. Whats they require is things like deorotant.
I keep reading that there are other, non-animal tests that are better. Apparently Nestles, Proctor and Gamble and other conglomerates haven’t read about this????????
Now my problem is finding something that isn’t animal tested. I need to cut and paste someway, this long column. Does someone have a block column rather than this vertical one?. I know enough to check the Country of Origin and which countries like China REQUIRE animal tests. I don’t buy Asian products, including cars, appliances, electronics, food or cosmetics.
To Lydia : Don’t you believe it!
One thing hampering proof in the US is that all government USDA records have been sealed so that the people who pay for the department, the public, is being kept right now from seeing public information. A Freedom of Information suit needs to be filed.
Every country treats animals horribly, it doesn’t matter if you are from the US looking at China, or China looking at the US.

^Someone from the US may think this is morbid, simply because a dog is a domesticated animal here in the US. The fact is, we brutally slaughter just as equal of creatures here in the US, raising cattle in factory farms then sent to slaughterhouses.
Yes, we should avoid products that test on animals- it is unnecessary and cruel, but I hope all these “cruelty-free” folks on here are actually living a cruelty-free lifestyle, (psst…that means not eating meat).
There are so many products 😡 I had no idea that all of them are tested on animals.. that’s disgusting
I know right!!!
It would help if you made a list of companies that do not test on animals. Thanks to everyone for the extra info re leaping bunny etc.
i would like that, too.
Nestle tests their Purina animal food on animals? That’s just sadistic. Not as bad as testing Hot Pockets on animals though…
http://features.peta.org/cruelty-free-company-search/cruelty_free_companies_search.aspx
PDF for Companies (2015) that DO NOT test on animals <3
Wow, so many brands. I use a lot of these already. I guess I’ll just have to try to avoid using them in the future.
I’m guessing this list is wrong. The one red flag is that Coca Cola state they do not test on animals and does not directly fund testing either.
http://www.peta.org/blog/cocacola-stops-animal-tests/
Also on the list of items supplied by companies you have listed Pepsi under Coca Cola, which is wrong as Pepsi is it’s own business. This just seems like a list created not to be helpful but just to be against any big brand.
RE: Coca-Cola: does this count? https://www.peta.org/action/action-alerts/coca-cola-stop-sponsoring-deadly-iditarod/
Shameful, unnecessary, and WRONG!
Can we also have a list of CEO of charity companies and their salaries. so we know where the money is truly going?
Keep going anon. You’re an inspiration and a lifeline.
Leaping Bunny says Burt’s Bees is approved? Why is it on this list?
Goin to small businesses and natural/health food stores you are more likely to find products that are began cruelty free…or just go as far as reading labels of products you may me interested but not sure of said companies practices or ethical standards,
I’m so shocked!I feed my dog Royal Canin – Not anymore.
They have Liz Earle Co. Under Avon. Avon is does not use animal testing any more, but I did not know that they own the Liz Earle Co?
Avon’s products are retailed in China.
It will be great if u send a list of companies that do not test on animals at all n that are safe to use.
Shaklee does not test on animals. the are PETA approved
