Chinese businessman, 54-year-old Xiong Shuihua, in his childhood was well looked- after by residents of Xiongkeng village in the city of Xinyu, southern China. Now that he’s made it big in the steel industry, he has decided to return to the village and give everybody a piece of the prosperity he’s had.

To make space for new luxury flats and villas, his team bulldozed the old huts and paved the muddy roads. 72 families were given luxury flats for free while 18 families who were particularly kind to the businessman were given villas, in a project costing close to £4 million.

  1. It’s good to see people giving back and it inspires me even more to give back to my community when I get successful. After the dream I just had and waking up to read this gave me more of a motivation.
