Colin Kaepernick on Hillary Clinton: “If that was any other person you’d be in prison”

Quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, Colin Kaepernick, made national news recently when he refused to stand for the national anthem, and of course the media has either distorted his reasoning, or straight ignored it. According to Matt Agorist of The Free Thought Project:

Americans are more outraged over a single NFL player’s personal decision than they are about the criminal government who rules over them.”

In a recent interview that most are unaware of, Kaepernick brought to attention the current dilemma Americans face; choosing the lesser of two evils this election. When asked if his decision not to stand for the anthem had anything to do with the presidential election, Kaepernick stated that it had nothing to do with the timing of the election, but that our current candidates both represent the issues the U.S. is facing. He continues:

You have Hillary who has called black teens or black kids super predators, you have Donald Trump who’s openly racist. We have a presidential candidate who has deleted emails and done things illegally and is a presidential candidate. That doesn’t make sense to me because if that was any other person you’d be in prison. So, what is this country really standing for?”

Alex Griswold of Mediaite wrote a scathing report in which he theorizes that Kaepernick has only taken a political stance now that he’s realized his career is coming to an end. Griswold states in his report:

Hey, late-life political conversions and racial awakening aren’t all that uncommon, right? But purely by coincidence, a day after his refusal to stand for the pledge, reports began to emerge that Kaepernick’s future at the 49ers was extremely dim. Not for political reasons, mind you, but for ‘football reasons.’” Griswold later continues, “I’ll stop beating around the bush and come out and say it: if you really think it’s a coincidence that Colin Kaepernick went from blandly apolitical to staging a headline-dominating political protest riiiiiight around the time that he realized that his lucrative pro career was over, I have a bridge conveniently located in the San Fran-area to sell you.”

Yes, it is a coincidence that the very day after Kaepernick’s refusal to stand for the pledge (which angered a lot of people), reports should immediately surface claiming that his future with the 49ers will most likely be cut short—so get ready to sell that bridge, Griswold. It’s very much a coincidence indeed, and how very thorough of every report on the matter to emphasize that it’s purely for “football reasons,” and not politically motivated.

Griswold gives us the perfect example of how information can easily be twisted to fit certain agendas, and this is especially evident in his next move as he brings to light a statement Kaepernick made in which he said, “If they take football away, my endorsements from me, I know that I stood up for what is right.” According to Griswold, this can only mean Kaepernick is trying to frame any sort of dismissal “as purely a reaction to his protest.” It couldn’t possibly have anything to do with the NFL’s already scandalous reputation, right?

If you’re reading this, Mr. Griswold, we’d like to bring a couple things to your attention: First, there’s never a “good time” for any celebrity to step forward with their feelings on a sensitive topic. While they have every right to state their beliefs and opinions (and they should), there will always be someone like you to tear it apart and twist it into something else. Second, your insinuation that Mr. Kaepernick is not entitled to an opinion on a topic that directly affects him in light of his nationality, all because he’s never said anything before, falls right in line with the most recent attacks against Kaepernick’s character; that he doesn’t have a right to form an opinion on such a matter because he’s not “black enough.”

You, Mr. Griswold, being a Caucasian-American, have no idea what experiences Kaepernick has had in his life. He has every right to form an opinion on this, whether you like his opinion or not, or its timing (others think he timed it to the presidential campaign). To paraphrase the great John Oliver—congratulations on having a white penis. Now be careful; your ignorance is peaking through.

The fact is, Kaepernick isn’t the first star athlete to protest the national anthem, and if people actually knew all the lyrics to it, there probably wouldn’t be much debate on this in the first place. It’s an atrocious song that directly celebrates the murder of African-Americans. Take a look at the end of the third verse:

No refuge could save the hireling and slave

From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave,

And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave

O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Really freakin’ beautiful, patriotic song, right? (That’s sarcasm, to those who didn’t pick up on that.) Here’s another image of “those sworn to blind nationalism” as created by The Free Thought Project, and brought to attention by Matt Agorist in his report:

This situation obviously has Americans blinded. While citizens are angry over one man’s choice that has absolutely no effect on them, the sociopaths running this country—the very people Kaepernick is standing (or in this case, sitting) against, are still fueling America’s tensions, expending us to fight bogus wars overseas, destroying our economy, and the environment along with it. But sure, let’s all get pissy at a man who refuses to sing a song written by a slave-owner who worked to suppress abolitionism and was against America’s fight for independence from Britain in the first place.

This guy is a perfect example as to why I no longer support or watch pro football. Overpaid, egotistical players who got a lucky break in their life, that decide to grab attention any way they can to divert attention from the obvious truth that they’re washed up.

“I’m washed up and losing my job, so I’ll exit under the guise of controversy.” At one time, he may have been good enough to whore himself out to play pro ball, but he was never good enough to be an American.
