Mayor arrested in Mexican Student Disappearance Investigation

CNN has reported that the missing students from Southern Mexico are most likely to be the burnt remains found in a river. The remains however are so badly charred, that it will take time to process any DNA tests used to identify the bodies retrieved from the garbage bags discovered by scuba divers searching the area. So far, 74 people in connection with the student’s disappearance, have been arrested. Three main suspects have been identified as members of the Guerreros Unidos gang; Patricio Reyes Landa, Jhonatan Osorio Gomez and Agustin Garcia Reyes. They have confessed to the killings, and have incriminated others for the heinous crime. [1] Protests have been sparked across Mexico as a result of the investigation. The governor of Guerrero has been accused of acting too slowly after the student’s abductions and has since taken leave from office. But it is seen as an act of side-stepping the investigation. The President of Mexico has also been asked to step down from his position if he can’t deliver answers on the missing students, most of who were studying a teaching degree at a rural college in Ayotzinapa. “The government is trying to resolve things its way so that to rid itself of this great problem it is facing,” [2]one parent told CNN. The Attorney General, Murillo, l who is helping to push the investigation, agrees that the situation is difficult and time consuming, but he upholds his comment that the orders to abduct these students came from the Mayor. Since then, authorities have arrested Iguala Mayor, Jose Luis Abarca and his wife.[3] Investigations continue.     [1] Joe Tuckman (7 November 2014) “Mexican gang suspected of killing 43 students admits to mass murder.”

  1. That’s all you have to say Tony? How profound! The only mention of CNN is that they reported about the crime/criminals. This bothers you?

  2. Don’t buy them saying it was a Mexican gang. That’s a death wish just incriminating others from the gang, they must have been offered some sort of deal for snitching. I don’t trust governments. But, must not fret, and be prepared, all will be resolved.

  3. Many of you might say it was not mexican gangs, but what you don’t understand is the corrupteness of my country. Not all government parties and all governers are corrupt, but for those who are they do use mexican gangs to do their dirty work. They work hand in hand so governors dont get hands as dirty. Many Mexican gangs can be bought and many are hired to dirty work. Local police around here too are corrupt and are paid a certain amount of money to shut up and do dirty work too. Not every police officer is corrupt especially not the Federal Officers, and neither is every politician. But yes! Many politician are dirty around here and they do hire nd work along side big named mexican gangs around here. Many gangs have gotten away with a lot of stuff that they do because they pay their governor’s or who ever is encharge a little money under the table to.keep shut and quiet.I hate how many of you comment and dont really understand. But its fine stuff happens and it takes one to be in the country to really understand what is going on.

  4. Thiis is shit. Not all political parties of the government are corrupt. But for those who are corrupt, they work hand in hand and pay Mexican gangs and cartels to do their dirty work for them. And many Mexican gangs and shit pay governor, who can be bougt, money to keep their trap shut. Mexico is not a fucked up country, beautiful on the contrary, its bull shit corrupt government and big named Mexican gangs who are making this country seem terrible. This is shit. Not all political parties of the government are corrupt. But for those who are corrupt, they work hand in hand and pay Mexican gangs and cartels to do their dirty work for them. And many Mexican gangs and shit pay governor, who can be bought, money to keep their trap shut. Ever since Peña Nieto, Mexico’s current president came into office Shit got worse, he basically bought his votes and gangs working with his political party threatened the people to vote for him. Ever since he’s been in office he hasn’t done Shit but to Fuck up the country even more. Unlike the former Mexican President, Felipe Calderon, who tried to fight off cartel and Mexican gangs, but unfortunately didn’t have enough time in office.
